I think we'll beat them 2-1 if Zaha plays.

They've improved since Emery arrived but, prior to beating Everton, they got walloped in three consecutive games by Leicester, City and Arsenal, conceding 11 goals. Our defence is pretty tight, midfield improving and we just need a goal threat.

Ideal XI

Guaita
Clyne
Mitchell
Andersen
Guehi
Lokonga
Doucoure
Eze
Zaha
Olise
Edouard

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I love that lineup but I would have to replace Eze with Ayew , I know people don’t agree but , Ayews defensive work expecially away from home is invaluable, bring Eze on later if need a goal, his defensive game needs work in my opinion , if we’re at home would go with your lineup

I actually think we'll win. Emery's honeymoon at Villa is over. We are due a win and Villa are not a better team than Palace. Zaha should feature too.

One thing I will add is that despite going 0-1 down at home I thought we were miles better than them in reverse fixture.

Not often I ever feel 'non-panicked' or even confident about us let alone when we're in match and losing. For some reason I felt as though I was just waiting for us to get the deserved goals and win.

Was a bit of time ago now however not completely obsolete.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

This should be the team. But he will find a way of jamming Schlupp into it somehow.

“Jones knows” that pillock who does the premier league predictions on sky sports app has us to win tomorrow , it probably is the second or third time he’s ever predicted us to win he normally backs against us every week , make of that what you will

It's not just Mark Lawrenson in a wig is it?

I seem to be under the impression that the times jones has predicted us to win we actually have , to be honest apart from his palace predictions (that’s why I called him a pillock) he’s actually not a bad tipster and does know his football , he has us to win 2-1 he tipped us for relegation 2 weeks ago at 10/1 but this week said “ more evidence has come to light and smacked me square in the face to revise my thinking” basically saying Anderson and Guehi are the difference now and he didn’t realise how superb they were

TBF I didn't realise the extent to just how pivotal they were for us until somewhat recently. I think the concentration is usually up the other end of the pitch.

The two CBs are the foundation on which our team exists currently. We used to rely almost exclusively on Wilf doing something with everyone else defending now I feel the pressure is upon them two to both keep goals out but mount our attacks too. Hopefully the newly resourced midfield will start plugging this gap. I'll give a starting XI a go actually:

Vin

Clyne
Andersen
Guehi
Mitchell

ASL
Doucoure

Eze

Wilf
Edouard
Olise

That's what I would like to see if everyone available.

Edit: I've just realised Caterbury Eagle has put exactly the same. Going forward, the Kent firm need to be consulted on team matters I feel.

I would have to have ayew start over eze, purely for his defensive work I said earlier in this thread the same , if we were at home I’d go with your team but I think ayew is pivotal to our defence especially away from home
