One home game Arry on Douc hit the post from way out. Very unlucky not to score but it will come.
Wonder what his dead ball shots would be like from 30 yards. He may not have the guile of Ebz or Olise but with his power thighs I bet he could hit a bone crunching pile driver.

To me he looks like he can strike the ball really well if in range, it did happen a few times, but by the nature of the job he does in midfield, he’s very rarely in range, plus his first thought is to lay the ball of to someone else all the time.

I thought he was our most improved player under Roy, Eze appreciated given more attacking freedom, but Doucoure wasn't breaking out of the defensive line and giving the ball away by holding on to it for too long - under Roy he looked much more comfortable positionally and his link up play was better. He was starting to remind me of Mongo in Blazing Saddles - 'don't shoot him it will only make him angry' - it's the low forehead and deep set eyes combined with his lunges and charges, but he's less of a loose cannon now. Interesting the fans made him POY, we would have been f*cked without him, though Hughes doesn't do a bad job at protecting the defence.

It’s like last summer we thought, let’s buy the exact opposite of Connor Gallagher in the midfield department. Douc does what he does really well, we just need that Connor Gallagher type in there with him now and we’d have a brilliant midfield

Sorry to keep mentioning Connor Gallagher, because I know it winds some people up that some can’t let go

i think Doucoure was earmarked as a replacement for Kouyate.

Eze was always going to play the No8/10 role vacanted by CG.

It looks likes Liverpool stepping up their interest for CD because they are getting gazumped by Chelsea on every other player they try sign. This is where Parish needs to show to us that he lead.

The report claims that Doucoure is likely to be cheaper than both previous targets.

We are literally seen as an absolute joke shop of a club.

This marvellous news! If we sell Doucoure for £50m Olise for around £40m n Geuhi or EBS for £50m plus it pays for the new stand.

This means our rich investors get to not have to put anymore money in and we will still have enough to pay them their interest on loans.

This is the perfect outcome!

If there is no release clause dont sell any more, they are not going to decrease in value, and in the event that one goes in the Jan window have the replacement sorted first, it was difficult with Olises with the release clause, but it isnt difficult to say No, to the others, i am sure all will leave over the next couple of years, same as Brighton, but one per window and a quality young replacement.

We have only had the boy for one season, there is no need to sell at any price. Of course there always is a price, but do a Brighton , stick out for mega money. The irony is they to got done on a release clause the same amount as Olise, So only take enough to change the future of the club in a positive way.

I really like Doucoure and he's important for us, but I just don't see him as a top class player. He's too slow on the ball at times and does make mistakes. I want him to stay, don't get me wrong, but if Liverpool offered north of 60m and say we got Curtis Jones for 20m then I wouldn't be complaining. To me Lerma looks a better all round player. Hopefully he stays though.

But we are about to get a real yard stick of where we are as a club. If Olise goes and we sell any more of our players then the proof is there for all to see. My heart is telling me we will sell no more but my head is not.

It is honestly sickening me looking at Chelsea just signing player after player just to stock pile them. They will loan half of them out to Strasbourg very shortly. Something has to be done about it.

It should almost be a positive of all the interest in our players as it shows our recruitment has been good however we seem completely unprepared our unwilling to spend any more money as we've got no squad depth to fill the massive gaps left by these players.

Zaha leaving I could accept and thought it might let the other players grow.

Olise leaving is gutting as he's so good to watch and his creativity will be sorely missed but the release clause makes it hard to avoid.

If we were to also sell Cheikh it'd be a truly awful window. Our core would be significantly softened and our attack even more restricted as he provides such good cover. We should tell liverpool to do one or say minimum 75m. If Lavia is worth 58m then Cheick is worth more.

People need to calm down.

Freak out WHEN a player has left, not because of some click bait clout chaser's article.

Outside of Mateta, Guaita, who'll bring in more cash, and won't really be missed, and possibly an academy player, no one else is leaving.

Couple of years ago 11 academy and 11 first team players were out of contract and leaving for nothing. Common consensus was that we were NEVER going to replace them, were going BACKWARDS as a team and were DEFINATELY getting relegated.

I am not a bot. No, seriously, I'm not.
