Jenni Murray wrote a book about the 20 greatest British women. For a caveman like myself it was an interesting read I knew some of the names but many I didn't and they had real achievements so I should have.

I disagreed with Jenni on 2 names. One was an obscure painter whose claim to fame was she was sister of a more famous male painter.

The other name was Nicola Sturgeon I disagreed because it is never a good idea to assess a politicians career whilst they are in power. Tony Blair in 1997 could walk on water and is now hated.

I felt at the time that if Wee Jimmy got independence for the Scots then yes she deserved to be in the book but it was too soon to say.

I realise I am making a judgement the day after she has resigned but my gut feel is that she will be remembered as a good politicians but not a great one, leaving aside the fact I detest her and her politics.

That is an interesting article -good point about the oil/green conundrum.
My wife is a civil servant and speaks very highly of Nicola Sturgeon on a personal level, says she always takes the time to thank people for their work and is very personable. The only other person she's come into contact with who's been at the same level of thoughtfulness was Cherie Blair in a previous job who she says is very good at talking to people; remembers names and personal details, etc.

that 'Human Rights' legislation gave a lot of rights & privileges to Criminal scumbags. It has diminished the quality of life for a lot of normal taxpaying little people.

Sturgeon comes across as very cold, a cold fish.

Only repeating what I was told about how they've treated people who've worked for them rather than the work they do.

Given the names of the last 2 leaders, the SNP have now shortlisted the 3 candidates for leader. They are:

Peter Perch
Jon Dory
Mad Mickey McMarlin

When Theresa May resigned as Prime Minister, the SNP in Westminster called upon the government to call a General Election.

When Boris Johnson resigned as Prime Minister, the SNP in Westminster called upon the government to call a General Election.

When Liz Truss resigned as Prime Minister, the SNP in Westminster called upon the government to call a General Election.

Now that Nicola Sturgeon has resigned as First Minister, I assume that the SNP will now call a Scottish General Election (or whatever they call elections up there).

Let's see where the investigation into missing 600K ish SNP funds goes, particularly now she has gone. Allegedly her husband is waist deep in the cash mystery.

I can see why many SNP peeps don't think her husband should stay as CEO of the SNP.

Independence became an industry employing a lot of people on fat salaries, now it is clear that it won't happen in the foreseeable there's a lot of worry about life in the real employment world

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I am just so happy that this purile square headed woodentop has finally gone. Who ever comes next, be it the Wee Free woman, the Muslim man or the other one who is making no effort so far has got to be better than her. I suspect Sturgeon will ultimately end up in court being charged with crimes against Scotland.

Just popped Nicola Sturgeon into an anagram thing and it threw these up (in no particular order)

cougar insolent
continual goers
ignorance lotus
colon signature
angriest uncool
no relocating us
on relocating us
neurotic slogan
creasing loo nut
canoeing or slut
gun recital soon
arsenic gut loon
erotica lungs no
goons it nuclear
groin nut solace

Not sure what my favourite is but I may find myself calling someone an ignorance lotus or an arsenic gut loon soon, particularly if they're Scottish.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
