Paul McGrath is kind of famous, you might have heard of him? And currently they have Michael Obafemi in the national team. It's not that unusual. You cant talk about black Irishmen without mentioning Clinton As for the question put by Ripley . I believe sport has done more for race relations in the UK than anything else . It is colour blind to a great extent where talent ,achievment and winners are the only considerations .

About the only thing I take from this post is that even now, in 2023, some people don't understand what racism is. No wonder we don't seem to be able to get rid of it.

??????? Players choose the allegiances of what country they play for, for a variety of reasons. Neither Olise nor Zaha chose to represent England, unfortunately but it's their right to choose

Vinne Jones: He's English no wait he's a Paddy damn he can't find his Grandma's birth certificate, so it off to the land of the daffodils. I am a patriot English by birth it is the country I would fight and die for. It's not just sports people I don't get anyone who swap passports at the drop of the hat (some Remainers). If a plastic Paddy gets banged up abroad in some dodgy foreign country suddenly all the pint of Guinness goes out the window they are loudly demanding to know what the British are doing about it. If you want to play for another country and are prepared to give up your passport I'm fine with that but most want it both ways. I do not like dual nationality and neither do a lot of countries.

Yes for me too it is pretty simple, but that's because because all my ancestral roots are English. But players who are mixed race like Olise or Zaha theve got a choice, and despite the fact that they grew up in England and developed football in the English system , as things stand they can still choose to represent Zaire or France. And let's face it the English men's teamhas only won one international competition and that was in 1966
