What situation is that? You make it sound like we’re doomed. Yes we've had a couple of mares recently, but you know what we’re like, ever since we’ve been promoted things can look pretty bleak at times, but we pull a few results out of the bag when needed ala Bournemouth

I don't think we are doomed. I predicted 15/16th place finish at the start of the season, I'm sticking with that. But yeah, experience helps: PV was a great player who had other great players around him, so this current situation is a test. Also the players need to step up to the plate.

Or - you sack PV, which is what your personal agenda is all about, get a couple of '' cheap loans '' in, install Dyche or whoever and still get relegated.

Posters on here want a Hodgson type manager in - really ? I was one of Roy's biggest advocates when he was in charge but I wouldn't want a return to that brand of football. You are saying that he's a better manager than PV - well he's had far more experience, but his methods are now considered outdated.

One poster mentions '' momentum ''. That we don't have any. That can change. Prime example being on Saturday. At 1-0 to Palace, Saints fans were chanting that Nathan Jones football is s***. I didn't hear them repeat that when they went 2-1 into the lead. Things can and will change.

I would only support sacking Vieira if we looked like we were nailed on for relegation unless we parted company with him. And that is not the case at the time of writing.

i would rather do that than spend another 70m with PV, and still get relegated, then we would be in the brown stuff

We have lost 4 out of the last 5 games and performances have been somewhat abject and a cause for concern. However we are 12th in the table (Where we finished last season), we are 7 pts clear of Everton in 18th place with a game in hand and prior to the Nottm For debacle we had won 4 of our previous 6 PL games.

At this juncture I cannot see any justification in relieving PV of his services and I am confident in asserting that such thoughts are not concentrating the minds of the hierarchy.

Of course you would.

Like I said, it fits in with your agenda.

we need an option in between.

We are still in a decent position in the table, but all feel pretty low after some rubbish performances.

We don't need to put ourselves in trouble but need to stick to the plan, a decent 20m perm CM and a couple of loans would be enough in my book

My only agenda is that Palace finish as high in the table as possible, and in controlled financial stability, nothing else.
i want the best manager, players, coaches that we can afford and i am not sure we have at the moment, we will know when we get to April what was needed and all i hope is the right decisions are made

Then I must be reading your posts incorrectly, because most of them state that you want PV sacked, including when you started this thread.

Look, you may turn out to be right. And PV isn't the answer. But there is no justification for proposing to sack him at this time.

You're living in dream land then, where exactly do you think we should finish because if you want us as high in the table as possible, while being financially secure then lets do the same for every other club, you can take the big 6 out and Newcastle now. West ham are bigger than us, along with Everton, villa, Southampton, Leeds, forrest, wolves. Every other team left has a strong argument for being as big. So If we was supposed to be where we should, then we would probably be in the championship.

People keep saying Dyche who I don't see coming to Palace also he doesn't strike me as a person who long term would get on with Parish a bit like Pullis who had falling out due to lack of £

Option 3

a few loans 2 are allowed in England and others from abroad for this window.

If things continue to be bad towards the end of the season get some one else in and give them the summer window with backing and 1-2 seasons.

The issue is who would replace PV?

If PV had better staff around him and not an obese assistant who is useless hes a low league guy I could see him doing a better job.

Pulis didn't fall out with Parish over a lack of funds, he fell out with him because he tried to renege on his contract and claim his £2m bonus and then quit when the terms of his contract said he had to be in charge of Palace's first team when the season kicked off. He wasn't he took the bonus and walked.
As for Dyche, I am sorry to disappoint all of his fans on here but Dyche is unlikely to ever be offered the Palace job. Parish has made it clear, we are moving away from counter attacking tactics. Vieira was brought in to instill a possession, passing philosophy. Obviously against the City's and the Liverpool's it is very hard to do that but against nearly every other team in the Premiership you can see it is happening. (76% possession for 20 mins against Spurs). Is this improving results? Well, yes. it might not feel that way right now but look at where we are in the table now and last season compared to 5 years ago when we were battling to stay up.
Its possible Vieira is beginning to reach his sell by date. Some feel he has taken Palace as far as he can (I dont, I just feel he needs a couple of players to freshen things up a bit) but either way, if Vieira leaves the club are not suddenly going to abandon the entire project for a flash in the pan appointment just because he happens to be available when his style is nothing like we are trying to implement. Some forget, we are not just talking about the first team here. Parish (and Vieira) made it clear when he came in he wants every team at every age group from u9s in the academy right through to the first team now playing passing, possession football. There's not a cat in Hell's chance the club are going to rip that all up when Vieira leaves. Any new manager that comes in (whenever that may be) will be someone who plays a similar way to the way we do now.
