Man who lives in nice area complains about tax. I read a great story about a woman who thought her property was in the wrong band the council agreed and raised her and the whole street to the next level. I bet she didn't go out much after that the neighbours must have loved her. I checked my tax band and according to the rules I am right on the edge of the next one up so I decided silence is golden, just in case. That can certainly happen, but not in this case. My neighbours are 100% behind me because if I succeed their own band will be reduced too. The worst that can happen is nothing. I won't go into details, but at the moment I am awaiting various documents requested under the FOI Act. I am anticipating that the VOA will cave in before it gets to the Tribunal, as they have made a gross error.

If you know Scorrier, even slightly, then you will know there isn't a bowls club there. The nearest ones are at Chacewater or Redruth. I don't bowl, other than as a visitor there either. So where you got the idea I have ever told you I bowl at Scorrier beats me. Nor did I suggest that you, or anyone else in particular, could, or couldn't, afford any specific sum. All I said was that anything seems expensive if you cannot afford it. It's a generalisation and nothing personal. You are getting touchy over nothing. Again.

I am not, hopefully anyway, the least like Willo, who truly believes that the Tory Party members have the right to choose our PM and writes prose like Rees-Mogg with his pants on fire. The point of the story is that having to adjust to a changing environment is nothing new, and that those who only look backwards are likely to fail. There are lessons in the story, but if you don't see them, then it's OK. The piece originally referenced was a parody of what changes our future could bring, written to provoke discussion back in 2016, and taken up by those who build conspiracy theories around the WEF as evidence to support their ideas. Willo hasn’t been on for a while so I do hope he’s ok and you mocking him is bad play.

Even the dumbest of the dumb must realise that. So you would not be able to find the post because it cannot exist. If you want to waste your time looking, I suggest you do, because it would be a better use of your time than repeating nonsense. That's not an opinion. It's a fact. So kindly put up, or............. I don't doubt for a moment your mother lived on the road between Scorrier and Porthtowan, which is one I know well and use frequently. I buy pasties at Prima (4 frozen medium steak a bargain at £5) and had one for lunch today. Just opposite Rodda's clotted cream dairy and next to Tim Martyn builders merchants. Not a bowling green in sight! If you knew Scorrier at all well, you would have gleefully jumped on a post of mine that claimed I played bowls there. You didn't, because I didn't.

Willo's defence of the way the Tory party members felt it was their right to dump the clearly incompetent Truss on the country deserves to be called out on every available opportunity. This is a situation which must change, and that applies to whatever party is in power. We no more want the Unions or Momentum choosing our PM than Tory members. Our MPs, who we chose, need to. On their own, in secret, and uninfluenced by fear of deselection.

Edited by Stirlingsays (27 Sep 2022 8.21pm) You are at it again! You are a seriously confused man. No-one in Cornwall, that I know, is hiding from anyone or anything. Some people prefer to live in cities, some in more rural locations. Each have their own reasons. It's their free choice. I thought you approved of free choice! Do you now recommend the socialist principles of forced integration? Maybe bussing people from Cornwall to Leicester and vice-versa? The number of immigrants I see here is rising sharply. Both to fill job vacancies, particularly in the health sector, but also as tourists. I was in Newlyn today and the number of guys working in the fish docks, who were obviously immigrants, outnumbered those who weren't. I have little doubt that over time that change will arrive. It always does. I also think it will be handled here in a more measured way than appears to be the case elsewhere.

So your right and the rules in place are wrong, amazing really how a whole political system hasn’t asked for your input on how to make it better and fairer. I’m sure the king will give you a call for a chat soon!
