In most developed countries, far too many people for resources to support.
In simple terms, compare it to your home. If you have three people living there and you double it to six, no extra income, but lots of extra costs, you will struggle.
We have finally arrived there globally. Far too many people, covid globally caused our leaders to shut the place down. Now the latest con with power. Then Russia/Ukraine.
Economic crisis. Etc.etc.etc.
Guaranteed food shortages this winter.
Its going to get very messy. Be prepared.

Today much more than a mini-budget.

A comprehensive demolition of the Conservative government's record in office of the past 12 years, made by themselves.

An admission of failure.

But not guilt, they just change the faces yet again and trot out another hackneyed version of their failed policies once more.

How does 'levelling-up' look now?

They’re screwed.

Still surprised that they decided Truss was a better option than Sunak seeing as the major issues are economic. They’ve shot themselves in the foot and now everyone else is going to have to take an acid bath for it. As bad as Johnson was he would never have come up with such toddler level policy tripe

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

'Kwarteng accused of reckless mini-budget for the rich as pound plummets.

Sweeping tax-cutting strategy gets hostile reception from markets and economic thinktanks and leaves Tory MPs aghast'.

Stamp duty was an elastoplast during Covid to keep the economy ticking over. It worked but caused house prices to soar upwards. It's a different situation now with interest rate rises making mortgages more expensive and costs of basic essentials soaring. Our bankers (read with a silent w) are encouraged to lend recklessly again to boost their bonuses. There won't be a spare £100 billion of taxpayer's money to bail them out again.

Well yes but some of us did try to warn about this, repeatedly, at the time. Yet as per usual, the sanctimonious types were too busy pontificating over utterly trivial matters such as partygate.

Yeah, he was s***. But d'you know what? I've never known a Tory PM in my lifetime to offer as much robust support to people as Johnson. During economic times like this, that was so much more important than whether or not he was a bit sleazy.

But, as always, the professionally outraged kept screaming about how he was the worst PM ever in the history of the world and had to go and had to go right now. And this is what we're left with.

It's a total shambolic embarrassment that Liz Truss is Prime Minister of the UK. And even worse, it's catastrophic.

We're the Arthur over ere!

What a ridiculous thing to do. We are truly f***ed now. And for those Tory members that voted for Truss - this is on them, no one else.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

You now have sections of the media writing that, for example, the reversal of the NI increase is going to make virtually no difference to the less well off, those earning 30K or less. These same commentators were writing how punitive it was when introduced.

It is very hard to find any non partisan commentary anywhere.

The interest rate increases might teach people to try and live within their means and not rack up massive credit card debt, and I don't mean the very poor.

As an example, when I used to regularly visit a nursing home , the young female staff were always well turned out, nice hair, well manicured nails etc.

I was chatting to one and asked how it was affordable bearing in mind the salaries were not high in the care sector. Simple, these young people all got credit cards as soon as they could and maxed them out fairly quickly and were saddled with debt from a young age.

How many people actually save to buy something now?

Spare me the " how can people save when it's eat or heat stuff ", I am not talking about the poorest in society here.

You asked someone how they could afford to have nice hair and nails because they work in the care sector? What a patronising thing to do, hoping that wasn’t some kind chat up line lol.

They are all overrated.

Truss would never have been elected she's there because she appealed to the self interest of a majority of Tory party supporters.

Southgate's time is probably up. He may lead a poor England team into the first round of what is likely to be a mediocre World Cup tournament in Qatar and then be replaced.

Harry and Meghan really need to step out of the limelight and get on with their private lives if that's what they want? They are looking increasingly bitter and foolish.
