People have short memories. Gallagher was the best thing to happen to our club in a long time last season. Sure, he dipped towards the end of the season a bit. But only in comparison to the insane standards he set for himself. All of this chat about bringing him in to rotate. Bollocks. If we're lucky enough to get Gallagher back, he walks into our starting XI with his eyes shut. If we can find a way to make him and Eze work in the same team, even better. A bit of reality. All this talk of fading second half of last season, how many young players ,or any player for that matter hold form from beginning to end of a Premier season, including some international games? Connor is not yet the finished article but to start supposing this kid can’t play because of a couple of poorly judged tackles is laughable . Connor isn’t ready for Chelsea, and he is trying to hard to impress. But he is ready for us and he has proved it. We don’t have to have him but we are better with him.

He was in the running for PFA young player of the year, but apparently not good enough for us anymore? Yes he dropped off towards the end of the season, but for three-quarters of it he was a standout player. Of course there are questions as to whether you can play both Gallagher and Eze in a midfield trio, but some things I've read I can only imagine are linked to the disappointment of him not returning. To put it simply, he is better than Luka, Hughes and Schlupp and has similar traits to our trusty McArthur. I'd be delighted if he came back, but despite his sending off I still don't see him leaving Chelsea for now.

Not good enough for us because he's Chelsea and unavailable, same lot that believe that were threating over him not being available for the semi final. If he was our player there would be ridiculous valuations put on his head.

Connor to us….Zaha to them….simples.. Who plays in Wilf's position? We're literally as badly off as before. If Eze plays there, then we're back to three decent central midfielders and no left wing cover. Left wing cover would have to be Schlupp!, Olise, (there is no Plange) and Ebowei. The only natural one would be Plange, unless people think Edouard can do it. Not good enough

He went missing last season end, his discipline record is awful, there is a genuine concern about whether he can work with a resurgent Eze, and he is expensive for us. These are genuine concerns and not just gripes from disgrunltled fans who resent the fact that Chelsea have and we do not. Obviously I would love the CG who started last season.

Not good enough Given that we play inverted wingers then Ebiowei could play left wing and Rak Sak could be brought back to play there in addition to Eze, Schlupp, Olise, Edouard. I think people are trying to compare everyone we have with Zaha who is impossible to replace like for like. I have far more worries about LB, RB and central midfield than I do who is going to play wide left.

The times are reporting this morning 10:15 that we have submitted a bid of 27mil for CG, will Wilf go the other way?
