Very, very early on but things looking grim for Everton and Southampton. Apparently all not well in S’ton camp and Everton am absolute mess. I’d be satisfied with them two plus another for relegation.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

At this rate, Man Utd. 3-0 down at Brentford after 30 mins all abject defending. Long may it continue!

That game at Brighton, August 17th 1974 was my first game but it didn't properly kick off with that horrible little club until Mr Alan Muppetry's money-throwing antics after our 1-0 win in a second replay of a 2nd round FA Cup tie at neutral (??) Chelsea, December 1976.

Everton will never go down, based on them escaping after last season's debacle. If they didn't last season, they never will. Brentford always seem to play hard enough to stay up. Southampton should go down every season, but they never do. It's true that Brentford and So'ton should be worse off than us, but who knows. That leaves Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest, and us. We have probably the smallest margin of error this season as we have ever had. I think Bournemouth will go down, and after that, I have no idea.

That's a good point. Last season, we had Gallagher, who was on fire in the first half of the season, even if he didn't do much in the second half. But it seemed like we had a feel good factor from early on, and even then, we weren't completely safe until late. This season, our schedule is brutal early. It's likely we'll be in a deep hole by the World Cup break, then have to dig out of it. And all this going on at the same time where it's likely Wilf's last season with us. We really need to get some points toward safety before January, and also identify a productive starting XI without Wilf.

As I've just reminded everyone on the Liverpool prediction thread; in the same fixture last year, our central midfield was McArthur, Kouyaté and Gallagher, yet we lost 3-0.

As i started this post This my finished table
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

We'll be fine by the time the WC comes around lower mid-table IMO. Edited by doombear (14 Aug 2022 1.46pm) Edited by doombear (14 Aug 2022 1.46pm)
