Took a gamble on a player with great potential who'd just suffered a bad injury. I suspect its hard to predict that a player that young wouldn't recover from it. Need to do the sensible thing now and move on.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

There were far more sightings of Lord Lucan however. I'm waiting for a cinematic, bond-villain-esque statement from Parish one day, off the back of some dramatic happenings at the Palace, where he swivels in a chair and ominously whispers "Nathan Ferguson? There never was a Nathan Ferguson".
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

There must have been one hell of a player there once to carry him for as long as we have without any return Twist or bust ? Its no skin off the average fans nose if he stays for another 10 years getting fit but it can't be good for the lad himself to be for ever getting treatment . Maybe being cruel to be kind , go play for Whyetleaf or something would be the best decision all round

When we first made plans to buy him a medical showed up something was wrong (knee I think) so we stalled & waited until the next window to finally take him from WBA, presumably we had enough time to do whatever discovery was necessary as regards whatever injury he was carrying - for us to have had him for almost 3 years with him spending so long in the treatment room one would assume that we wont be renewing his contract & any team that wanted to take him would be taking a serious risk / would struggle to get him almost any form of professional players insurance -

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Even though Ferguson was (past tense) a talent, if we give him a extension to his Contract it would make a mockery of the Academy & of up & coming defenders in other leagues we could sign.

I'm worried about Richards although agree he could be useful. Already he has spent excessive time in the Nathan Ferguson Suite.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

When a player so young is out for this much time he should be retired or really look at it as this level is too high. This is a player who has never been proven at Prem level and really hadn't done much before coming to Palace his record before wasnt anything special I expect to see the club give him another year deal because of his age/will be cheap.
