Even if you accept the zeal of the activist's arguments, which I don't (which doesn't mean I don't accept that there are issues and problems). The climate change activists need to be making their arguments and doing their activism where the actual real action is happening. That's China, US and India, in order of magnitude. The UK is responsible for approximately 1 percent of emissions. Let's remember that when these virtual signalling narcissists try to stop you getting to work on time or tell you that you need to 'take action'. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Jul 2022 7.38pm) To lecture others from the moral high ground, we first need to ensure we are standing on it. Our efforts may be insignificant in the overall scheme, but they aren't if they demonstrate it can be done, and how it can be done. We led the world into the industrial revolution. We now have a duty to lead the world into solving the problems it created.

And we are already trying to legislate good cars off the road and good Houses into disuse. Lefty nutters running about banning everything. Its Utter madness when you consider a normal smoky city in China. A low-mileage 2.2 Litre Honda from 2005 has been taxed off the irish roads, and my mechanic friend tells me they all get exported to Africa for another 20 years of driving....same sky, same smoke, different country. The car may have cost 40 grand in 2005 and the lefties have rendered its resale value as virtually nil. 1,200 quid a year of car tax. The poor fvckers who bought the car in 2005 got shafted. The latest of a long list of tragedies in the world that have seen no justice!: The man who invented the wheel not being held responsible for the untold amount of road deaths year upon year. The inventors of the moustache, hair products and Hugo Boss for Hitler. The guy who first designed the swimming pool, for all those who have drowned in them. Boris Johnson's mother. The list is endless. Thank god for WE providing some clarity on perspective in all of this.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Edited by PalazioVecchio (19 Jul 2022 1.03pm) You are out by a factor of 10. ROI produces approximately 0.1% of the world's emissions. The emissions per capita of the ROI is significantly higher than the UK. That said, I agree with your "madness" conclusion.
