It's curious that the media never questions how when Liverpool was the most depressed city in a country riven with unemployment their fans could travel all over Europe to see them.
The fact it was all done by fare dodgers who went on massive shop lifting sprees is conveniently forgotten.

Sorry still haven’t forgot how they lost us our European adventure through the behaviour of their scummy fans.

Great result just shame they didn’t get beaten on penalties.

Supporters causing mayhem yet again…..it’s always them….and always somebody else’s fault…they are a disgrace

Exactly this, glad they lost

But on a similar note, I hope Forest get promoted today, it’ll be good to have them back in the top flight, because I was always rooting for them in Europe back in the day, back when English teams were English or British and not packed with foreigners

Liverpool fans saying how badly organised it was and it was the authorities that caused all the problems last night.
Was it only at one end of the stadium then?
Real Madrid seemed to have no problems - they just turned with valid tickets and entered the ground.

One consolation for Liverpool fans. Their team "made history" (to use the favourite phrase of the pundit) yesterday by having failed to score in 3 cup finals in the same season.

On the BBC sport Andy Robertson (Liverpool player) is saying that he gave a friend a ticket & the friend was refused entry to the stadium saying it was fake -

Was there something more sinister involving the stewards at the stadium going on here ?

I hear on the radio this morning that Merseyside police travelling with the fans have described their behaviour as "exemplary". I find that difficult to ignore or dismiss. Others may disagree.

I think last night was the first time in a European final involving an English team where I really wanted the other team to win. There's just something really smug about this current Liverpool team that starts with Klopp and feeds through the players and fans. Ancelotti looks and acts like a mafia don at times with the shades and cigar and little raise of the eyebrow; you can't help but respect that!

No, it's just yet another "we are the victims" thread.

I feel genuinely sorry for the fans who had bought tickets through the official channels and couldn’t get in. However, this sort of incident doesn’t seem to happen with other clubs and is sadly, for Liverpool, a reflection of their fans on the whole. My guess would be that the majority with fake tickets knew they were fake and tried to chance it.

They have history of turning up in vast numbers without tickets, trying to force their way in, with devastating consequences, yet they never learn. Never their fault. As someone else said, there didn’t seem to be problems at the Madrid end.

Apparently 100,000 fans in Paris with 20,000 tickets. Surely if you didn’t have a ticket, the next best place to watch the game would be in a Liverpool pub with likeminded fans who couldn’t get tickets? Would save yourself a lot of money too!

I remember queueing for hours at Selhurst for a Semi Final ticket against Southampton decades ago. Can't remember any fake tickets doing the rounds back then. Not sure how these Champion League tickets were distributed but surely if you only have two outlets - Liverpool FC and Real Madrid - then that cuts down the potential for the secondary market. Anybody who can't make the match has to return the ticket to Liverpool for a refund and only the club can then sell on the ticket. If everybody knows that there are only two outlets to purchase the tickets, then the man in the pub becomes redundant and safety has a better chance of surviving. So, the problem last night is obviously the corporate and hangers on who let their tickets be sold and therefore act as a cover for the fake tickets doing the rounds.
