Well said CP. If we dismiss the outliers on here, the ideologues and the holier than thou , the vast majority on here are sensible and willing to discuss things in a reasonable manner.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The whole COVID and law makers turn law breakers 'scandal' for me is somewhat similar to what we see going on at football grounds recently.

The fact is if you are to introduce laws and not enforce them or even abide by them yourselves, on any meaningful scale, then you are inevitably vulnerable to massive scrutiny and criticism and the harder the laws will become to enforce. For me personally, it equates to 'Why shouldn't I be allowed to have a small party or what not, or storm a pitch and tell Lampard what a w***er he is - they did.'. I of course have not nor intend to do either of these things but can see the stream of thought.

To be quite blunt, I couldn't care less if either Boris or Kier had a brewski somewhere but that does not balance well with people not being able to visit dying loved ones, having small Xmas gatherings etc etc.

Does still bemuse me some of the public debates on who did what? If there's any genuine belief that anybody with a smidgeon of power in government took seriously what they were preaching to the letter, for the entirety of the ordeal. I'd consider that naive at best.

I still remain rigid in my opinion that neither Boris nor Kier represent myself, Joe, Fred or Harry down my street. They are two sides of the same coin for me, jumped up tw@ts slinging mud at each other whilst the average bloke gets too caught up in it not noticing the correct course of action is to point a finger and say, actually, you know what, they can both f**k off, in fact, they can all f**k off!

Politics has become extraordinarily Victorian once more, the actually privileged battling it out to see whom can 'win over' the masses. Neither side have any true, honest representation in terms of ideology or leadership. 'Bunch of c***s as the Millwall side of my family would no doubt succinctly, albeit simply, put it. Come to think of it most the Palace fans would too.

A lot of truth to this really, in that they're all very detached from the day to day concerns and struggles of the average Brit. Anyone too 'down to earth' is filtered out long before they can get too close to power, I've always suspected that. It's no surprise that Eton and the like are politician factories for the well connected. Many at the top in politics are no doubt corrupt or compromised to varying degrees too and therefore useful to others. Actual integrity is kryptonite.

With overreaching laws, it's win-win for those in power, as they can selectively apply rules to whoever they please, while dialling down the importance of it once they themselves are caught out. It all becomes 'lessons will be learned' and so on once the spotlight is on them..

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has asked the Met Police for a "detailed explanation" of how it decided who to fine during its investigation into No 10 parties.

The mayor's spokesperson said Mr Khan was concerned a "lack of clarity" was eroding "trust" in the police.

Whether you like Khan or not this is the right thing to do.

Public confidence in the Met is disappearing off the edge.

Or perhaps he could concentrate on serious crime? London up with US and South African cities on violent crime but the police are to continuously investigate parties.
