It's incredible how fine some people are with being ripped off, as long as it's someone rich and on their 'side'. Absolutely no shame nor principle.

Well, I'm self employed and I pay precisely what I should, but then you are likely right to be honest, and I am known to do my best then get treated like a mug . But I mean technically, I would think what she did 'is' tax avoidance isnt it? Not if she followed the rules and didn't break the law.

Not if she followed the rules and didn't break the law. I'm certainly not saying that she's done anything illegal, rather that the behaviour of both her and her husband, especially in his position, is unethical. The wider issue is that clicking our fingers and closing these types of loopholes isn't something that's easy for the man on the street to do, as they don't exist to benefit the man the street. Those in power use mechanisms of their own creation to shelter their wealth. We have no meaningful part or place in that conversation unfortunately (as we appear to have no power to stop any these abuses or those from corporations) and I very much doubt it will change.

LOL. Lets be honest here, some foreign taking advantage of a tax loophole that both major parties have allowed to exist for a long, long time by way of pleasing doners ain't really the story. The story is who leaked it and why? And the answer lies in a photograph taken from a balcony in Downing street of some people enjoying lock-down drinks in the garden.
There are local elections in May. The Tories are expected to get their arses kicked. And voices will be raised about Johnson's leadership (again). Sunak WAS seen as a potential challenger to the throne. Not anymore. Johnson seems to have gotten his political mojo back. Say what you want about the loathesome arsehole, he knows the game.
