I don't think Olise will be fit, maybe the bench which could prove useful. For one I'd be happy with Ayew for this game. His work rate will partly offset the loss of Gallagher and he breaks up play winning free kick. It can be breathing space. And if you're super optimistic he might even score.
Jimmy Mac for me with Hughes to come on when he's knackered. That would allow a place for Eze. However wouldn't be surprised if Schlupp started in a cautious middle 3 though.
The rest pick themselves, assuming Mitchell is ok. Happy for PV to decide. He will have better insight to Chelsea than most of us.

I could see Vieira approaching the game with the same 4-5-1 tactic as in the home game.
That worked quite well until their late goal.
The difference would be that Eze rather Olise would play behind the lone striker Zaha.
The other 3 midfielders would be Kouyate, Schlupp , MacArthur and Ayew.
Vieira made a comment about us remaining compact for this game and I could see him wanting us to stay in the game before considering the use of Olise (if fit) , Mateta or Edouard.

The formation would free Eze of some defensive responsibility and allow him to work at the top end of the pitch.

That should read the other ‘4 ‘ midfielders.
We would line up with Ayew, Mcarthur, Kouyate and Schlupp in midfield with Eze playing off Zaha (the role Olise took against Chelsea in the home game).

What I am seeing being discussed is a very defensive line up. So the tactics are to play for penalities? Zaha as a lone striker isnt going to win the game and the way we take penalties, there is no way we are going to win a shoot out.
Such a defensive line up is not making this an exciring prospect and in fact an inevitable defeat.
I would play Mateta from the start and play Eze instead of Ayew, and play Olise as much as he can until he stops working. Its a one off game. He who dares etc

Agree with Kevlee.

Our more limited players' weakness will be exposed in the Wembley vastness. Be ambitious: Eze, Olise rather than McArthur, Ayew. It's pointless trying to replace Gallagher with someone similar because there isn't anyone.

PV has played in enough big cup games to know what is required so hopefully he will be brave. I would rather get beat going for it than to lose 1-0 and not have a shot on goal.
