Never seen such nationalist support for a remainer.

For what it's worth, as I often find it a surprisingly useful measure, Macron is 2/9 to win the election and Le Pen 3-1. This suggests that while the 'money where their mouth is' crowd believe that Macron will win, it's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that Le Pen could. Now Macron 1-8 and Le Pen 6-1. Hopefully offering an indication of how 'white brothers' might feel about the alternatives to her right. Crypto-fascism on pause. Edited by BlueJay (11 Apr 2022 2.16am)

It was a nod towards an assumption that they might want to vote more heavily in a certain direction due to that. I'm just highlighting where people are at politically. Their vote of course, I can but observe it!

One has to ask why so many are favouring Le Pen. When you look at what is happening in Europe, the answer is fairly clear. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (11 Apr 2022 11.05am)

Time will tell if this or the next election moves even more in that direction.

I think Macron will win this quite comfortably especially with the other defeated parties not wanting the far-right. He will play heavily on WW2 occupation by the nazis and now has Le Pen's support of Putin as well. Each time she runs she tries to soften their posture and close the gap. It's a long time since WW2 but Putin and atrocities are now.

However, due to the collective economic paths Europe has taken, it seems nailed on that the majority of us will be increasingly poorer for some time....at the bottom end I have genuine concern. If this election were even six months later Le Pen would likely win. Her chance is probably next time......if we haven't all been blown up by then. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2022 12.29pm)

Hard to argue with that. At least you've come around to seeing the barbarity for what it is, rather than adopting this loosening allegiance that we now see in some disconcerting quarters.

I have plenty of French friends and no one I know, anywhere, likes Macron. I don't trust the elections if I tell the truth. I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire, let alone vote for him. The man is a dangerous idiot. Exactly how embarrassing is it in France to marry your teacher - not a young good looking one at that? With all those French women to choose from, my only deduction is that she's either his beard, or he's a bit weird.
