You could try that but unfortunately what would follow would be unlikely to match.

My degree in computing involves working with actual logic, what was your degree in?

Dancing?

What a burn.

Electrical engineering.

Only just better than dancing then.

No. You obviously know, or else you wouldn't be posting on the subject.

Whether you decide I know or not, it's important that the specifics are covered here.

I'd like to know, and others may also be interested, to know what these terms you use actually mean.

First of all, for those who may be interested to read it, what do you consider 'woke' to mean and then what specific elements do you disagree with?

It's not difficult and it would be interesting to see it spelt out in the interests of clarity.

No?

Why? I don't understand.

Don't question it.

Oh, I see.

Let's not question it, then, is the response.

the BBC is beyond redemption. Like an old terminal dog, it needs a gentle bullet in the head.

However, i would be happy with a new right-Leaning broadcaster. To mirror and match the BBC for insanity. A cross between General Franco and General Pinochet. Just for the sake of balance.

Are you seriously trying to convince us that you can't use the internet to look up the meaning of a word?

Try 'What is woke?'

It's not so much what it is, but how it is used for political purposes. How it impacts on the majority, and how it sets a double standard.

I agree, though perhaps a gentle cushioned slap from Will Smith would result in less mess.

Not even that, I'd accept some disappointed tutting as long as the funding's changed.

Like feeding people stories such as 'Tulse Hill to be renamed' to entirely distract them from the important failings of Government?

You watch, the Tories main messaging up to a new GE will be to position themselves as 'anti-woke' and everyone will forget the fraud, theft, parties, lying to the monarch, struggling economy, realities of Brexit etc. as long as they agree not rename a Ploughman's lunch.

That is the primary political purpose of 'wokeness' - to keep people frantically moaning about the renaming of a statue they've never visited, over the fact that their elected representatives broke the law 20 times.

Yes, of course I can but I'm interested in what you posters on here actually take it to mean.

How is it used for political purposes, in what way does it impact on the 'majority' and how ]does it set a double standard?

It's all very well using these terms but it's all so general. What are the issues, what about them do you actually disagree with? There are probably many topics that could be 'woke'. Name them and then state, specifically, which ones you disagree with.

I so often hear the term and so often hear that people hate the idea of 'woke' but seldom do people say what it is about the principal and specific items of woke that they disagree with.

It's all so wishy-washy, non-specific.

Why don't people come out and say which aspects of it that they disagree with?
