Walked out of 'Cyrano' yesterday after 45 mins, seems I was snoring so much. Held my attention until they started to sing.....awful!!! My wife woke me as she wanted to leave.
The manager gave us free tickets to see 'The Duke' next week, I'm sure it will be better!

I seem to recall walking out of a showing of The Wild Bunch at a university film night.

I have never watched it since and don't know what I'd make of it now.

You don't say when you were at uni Pete, but I'm guessing it was a fair few years ago. Neither do you say why you walked out.

But, although very gritty and violent with lots of lingering, slow mo bloodshed, Peckinpah made this a film that has generated many plaudits. I didn't enjoy it first time round, but have since come to appreciate the style and the story he wanted to convey.

Might be worth another try Pete.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The Wild Bunch is one of the best westerns ever. One of the best films ever basically.

The film looked awful in the trailers - and they're the best bits. Perhaps it will do better on xhamster.

Would have been about 72/73. I can't remember why I left, but if the opportunity arises I will give it another go.

Looks like I should have been more patient. It was around the same time as Monty Python did the Sam Pekinpah's Salad Days sketch.

Was that where everyone gets horribly killed whilst having afternoon tea or something like that? Blood spurting everywhere in a sporting jacket?

William Holden was brilliant in the Wild Bunch. Better than Stalag 17, I felt. Don't know if he won anything for the Wild Bunch.

Yes that's the one. John Cleese loses both hands when the lid of the piano is shut down on them.
