Abbott as Hattie Jacques, Corbyn as Sid James, or Kenneth Williams? Starmer surely Bresslaw. Not a buxom blond in sight. I still watch Carry On - and still laugh out loud.

Tips hat, good man.

I was always Labour in the UK and proud of it. Wouldn't vote Labour since Blair. It's not Labour anymore, more clown world.
My view of the Tories is basically old school tie and I wouldn't vote for them either. As for Liberals - choose a side pussies. So basically, I was left with no real party to vote for.
Occasionally I vote for entertaining candidates. I voted for The Ice Man, for example. He did headstands in a bucket of ice for long periods in the high St. Dedication I thought.
To be fair to Britain, services were far superior. To be fair to Ireland living standards are far higher. Perhaps more safe but there's actually loads of burglaries etc. Cheaper in the UK than Ireland but probably, over all, you can have a better life in Ireland - just don't get sick or old. Tax is f***ing f***ed up too.

Glad to hear it AS, yep, don"t get old, here or there!

I will stand in the way of a bullet for all my kin but will not live like a pauper so they don't have to or MAY have to. Help when and where you can but don't be a martyr to the cause. Brutal but hey I've got alife to live and whatever is left they're welcome to.
You don't have kids so why the che attitude ?

Very true mate, on all counts, just some like to set their kids up, but like your attitude, fair play!

Far be it from me to defend the Blair-like champagne socialist party that is the modern Tories.

I'm just saying that the alternative wasn't worth a cold yank on a wet Wednesday either.

yeah, fair enough stirls, i can just see real hardship for us all for years, and you cant exactly turn the electric off these days so nowhere to run!

Oil prices plunge !

[Link]
today on BBC website : "Oil prices have plunged after the United Arab Emirates said it supported increasing production."

How many weeks/months before that drop is passed onto joe public ? All too quick to ramp the prices up, but drag their heels when the price falls.

We've seen regular increases of between 1p and 5p a litre, with barely a day or two for pause.

I disengage, I turn the page.

The government in Ireland is cutting its excise duty on fuel by 10-20%, hopefully maybe knock 20c off a litre. Here's hoping. My oil for heating ran out last night and it's still pretty cold. The wood for the stove is massively up too. Maybe 7 a bag and that lasts about a day.

But the garages have put all the prices up and the government have said they are powerless to act. Pr1cks of the highest order.
