I'm only justifying it over the potential. Without the things done around the world the future wasn't known ref c19. A more dangerous strain could still emerge and hindsight will be everyone's buzzword. I've no doubt how tough it will be Stirling. Point is you can't turn the clock back. All can do is play with the deck you have. This life thing isn't meant to be easy. As you know ive been there done that

The 'oh so wonderful' globalism will mean that another virus is a certainty. It's just a matter of when.....not coming out of a lab would be nice.

Fingers crossed we don't have to deal with it again for a long time.

I would recommend getting N95 respirators in for the family even just as a fall back for the offspring....in case the next one is more deadly.

Pant pissingly funny, feck off you anti semitic dinosaur. Shame he'll get a massive pension.

Remember Starmer campaigned to have him as PM.

Apart from his anti semitism his reluctance to condemn Russia for poisonings and his semantics about attending terrorist funerals are soon forgotten. IMHO worse than Partygate although I condemn those functions and the attempt to wriggle out of culpability.

I agreed with Corbyn on scrapping Trident, for me a misdirection of resources in the modern age of threat.

Redirect the money into nuclear electricity generation

My neighbour used to meet with both of them, Starmer and others every second Tuesday. Said Jezza was barking, worse than his mad brother. Sir Keir was well liked and very down to earth.

Other than he campaigned for the barking one to be PM

The Sunday Times is carrying a story about Labour deselecting Corbyn and standing a new candidate in his safe Islington seat.

Ouch.

A man who led Labour to polling over 40% in 2017 is now considered no longer fit for purpose by the party he once led.

Be interesting to see how the Left react. And the Trade Unions. Labour has a funding crisis as it is so they really are playing with fire now.

Hopefully there will be massive rift, Labour will split and there will never be another chance for SWG types to get into power. We do need a sensible opposition, perhaps a coalition of some new kinds of social democrats.

Parties that can oppose the absurd greening of the Conservatives and aim for energy independence, investment in useful things like buses, a policy to reduce energy use as well as increase production. Long term strategy on carbon alternatives without making citizens shiver because of energy prices etc

I feel somewhat differently about it.

Anyone on the right has serious issues with Corbyn, however he represents a serious chunk of Labour's grass roots and they deserve a voice like anyone else.

If this is done then Starmer is kicking sand in the face of his base and that's a fundamental disconnection between the grass roots and it's leadership. That would be copying how the Tory party is run.

True - but Realpolitik. Blair had to oust Militant thereby alienating a substantial part of their base while pulling in the liberal middle who outnumber them.

I think I heard the other day that the average conservative MP is actually more left wing than the average northern Labour voter.

There are a hell of a lot of people on both left and right who aren't being represented politically.

Personally, I view it as the the elites getting their 'acceptable' versions of both Tory and Labour, rather than either representing the majority of those voting for them.

Anyway, disagree with Corbyn as I might he represents a lot of chattering classes down there in Islington and if they throw him out I hope he stands and wins his seat as an independent.....deselecting a former leader is some insult.
