This is just a great story and despite our rivalry a brilliant thing to do in raising money in a fun way.

So, an update on what happened with this. As you know, Westquay was behind the effort to raise awareness for this cause. His friend Neil, a Brighton fan, wanted to raise funds for the Martlets Hospice. They cared for Neil's friend Ralph, a retired nurse who worked at the children's hospital in Brighton. Neil's mission was to do a sponsored walk on the West Highlands way in Scotland. Westquay challenged him to do the walk wearing Palace shorts. Challenge accepted if Palace fans raised £150. Well, in typical Palace style, we did a lot more than that - much more. In total Palace fans contributed a staggering £850 ! The result of that being that Neil then had to complete the whole walk in full Palace kit, together with a special message on the back of the shirt. We showed the Palace way when supporting the Hartlepools managers wife. This is another example of what a great fan base we have. Thank you to CPFC - Phil Alexander - who willingly donated the kit. Hats off to Neil McIntyre for keeping his word, it must have been an uncomfortable experience ! He was completely blown away with the response from Palace fans. Well done to Westquay for being there for his friend and being the inspiration behind involving us, thereby guaranteeing Neil achieved his £1000 target. And finally a huge thank you to all on here that donated.
