PV didn’t rest many at Watford in the league cup earlier this season, and if Wilf and Kouyate are available before AFCON then he may as well play them.

Palace v Millwall has always been about bragging rights and not about tear ups, Millwall have their rivals as we have ours. I never witness any violence between the clubs at Home or Away back in the day 70s early 80s

There is always trouble, the only reason it is low key is because most Palace fans try to walk away rather than get involved. In c1985 under Coppell there was a 'pitch invasion' as Palace fans tried to get away from Millwall fans who had come into the home end. Even featured on crimewatch. Wear colours at your peril

Wear colours at your peril Was that the cup game when they knocked us out for the next round against Chelsea? That was scary, I was 15 I think, the tear ups and aggro in Thornton Heath High Street afterwards were not pretty. I saw some bloke being chased by Millwall along the road and he jumped head first through the closed back window of a cortina estate (I think it was his mate) and this Cortina sped off with this blokes legs dangling out the window. 10 seconds later as me and my mate were walking along with our palace scarves tucked well under our collars out of sight, we both felt a hand on our shoulder and head appear between ours "alright lads?, who is the Millwall keeper?" Game over I thought, we are getting a hiding. Then one of the mob he was with shouted something to him and he was off chasing some other poor sod they were after. We hid behind a bush in a front garden for half an hour after that until they went home.

Don"t talk yourself out of enjoying the day , Millwall aren"t the same as they were back in the day, they are the same as you, only with a reputation. Lets not forget the away days we had back in the day, the firm we took to QPR in the semi final pitch invasion game, the running the Arsenal north bank when they were the top firm in London with Denton and Miller, 40 Palace ran the packed North bank, pushing them to one side of the goal, just as they were singing"clock end, do your job". Millwall were the top firm, with West Ham, but those old school blokes have grown up, I knew a lot of them.Everton told Millwall they were coming to the den, where they would be , what time they were arriving, then walked from Wapping to the ground, they stood their ground. Even Charlton walked from the station with a group to the ground, from New cross, not hiding who they were, lets not start talking ourselves down, just go and enjoy the game, if you get gobby anywhere you deserve a slap, so don"t gob off and enjoy the game. Lets hope we put out a full strength team - its disrespectful to our nearest neighbours not to!

Nice bit of history there CP, most these days would be filming it as conscientious objectors and bragging about their involvement online later! Should be a cracking game with atmosphere to match.

Yeah, we had our moments Eaglecoops, always loved Luton away to, what people dont know is the time our lot nicked the train full of 2000 palace at London bridge and took it round loops of South London for the next 45 mins, most on the train were none the wiser, only kept asking why we were at tulse hill again, then deptford way(complete other line), then brixton, then new cross, it was because a group of ours got in the drivers cab and pushed the go stick-and off we went! Only at Tulse hill, for the third time, going round a long bend, could I see hundreds of police on the platform, and dogs galore, the train thieves spotted them, stopped the train and jumped off up the bank, only for a driver and peak cap officer to come down the line and take over. To add insult to injury, the train thieves bricked the train as it moved off, even though they were our own- this was hushed up and never a word spoken in the press the next day! Looking back, how stupid it was, but back in the day- about 42 odd years ago- it was anarchy- happy days!

Yeah, its a great draw, but as I said, I just hope we put out a strong team- the strongest we have, we could do with a good cup run!

We had three seasons running of serious bother with Miiiii in the Coppell era. Twice they ran us onto the pitch, third time we just about stood our ground but there was fear, without question. I'll never forget a giant Palace fan called Chris pushing me into them in the Enclosure. Must have been 6 ft 6 amd 16 stone "No, no, no. After YOU, sir". And some bellend who went by the name of Stobo. And a big bald Palace fan who smacked one of them clean on the nose with a Brolly (in that third fracas) to kick it all off. The Police saved us.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

After you sir-ha ha. A couple of years ago, next to the big post office in Croydon, outside bar Milan, 5 of them were having a beer at the table, it wasn"t a match day, and a loan Palace bloke wearing a club strip wakled by, minding his own business. The 5 had been singing football songs previously, Millllllll, you know the type. Anyway, this bloke walked by, and they gave him dogs abuse, Palace wonker etc, he turned round and fronted the 5. What did you call me? he said. A Palace wonker, said the main man. Without hesitation he flattened the bloke, table going up, the other 4 were taken aback, holding bottles, mumbling he was out of order etc, he just walked off- top bloke!

The big bald bloke sounds like Pat T, I spotted him in the QPR y end after I got chucked out for being pushed in to 5 police by my mate I was with- seems pushing others in to danger was quite the thing back then! I got back in, got chucked out again in the qpr end by the same officer-who had changed ends! Got in for a third time, and when the pitch invasion happened me and Pat T were over the moon to see the calvary coming our way from the palace end!
