France itself has already fallen. It's just that the French have not yet figured out to whom they must surrender.

The Greeks, Italians and Spanish can barely afford to laugh these days. Go to the South of any of those countries, or the Greek or Spanish Islands. Can’t afford to stay in their own country because, no work, the EU and its failed fiscal union. Well Greece is as much to do with tax dodging and unbelievable wages and pensions for some jobs. I heard bus drivers were on 50,000 or something. Or demanding it and about to get it. Edited by Rudi Hedman (09 Sep 2021 11.49am)

interesting discussions: "But France - as well as campaigners and critics - have questioned the legality of the plan. They believe it breaks international maritime law, which says people at risk of losing their lives at sea must be rescued." (BBC website) How about stopping the c-units at source by intercepting them as they attempt get in their boats at France ? French are only now scared they'll lose the money the UK is giving them to stop these migrants

Internation maritime law cannot trump the right of a nation to protect its borders. Let's not let the relatively small numbers of boat people arriving now disguise the enormous amount of people that are currently coming here legally or by other means every year.

Drones armed with dart-like weapons - controlled from ships just in international waters on the French side, and hit them as they are still in shallow water leaving the French coast so they can wade back to safety. Wouldn't get all of them, but it would make a point

I actually have a shortage of these very welcome people. Rooms allocated to the Home Office are nearly always vacant. Always found them polite not the slightest trouble. To see them setting out on their journey makes me proud I hope their lives go well here.

A bit like how it was nice that all those Europeans going all around the world on the sea makes people proud today.

That is the real threat to our way of life. This made me laugh. Would you care to define 'our way of life'? Are the immigrants going to cause the destruction of all carbon based lifeforms or just those infected with patriotic syphilis?

Sky have traced one of the most recent boats used to a boatyard in the Netherlands. Now you have to ask why the border force haven’t been able to do this themselves ? Stop sending millions of pounds to the french who do nothing !

Stop sending millions of pounds to the french who do nothing ! One would presume a certain amount of the boats could be tracked by radar. Local enforcement is doing nothing, as people like the Mayor of Calais has demonstrated on several occasions. One has to suspect that Macron cares little also. I expect the French are happy to get rid plus piss Britain off at the same time. Two birds with one stone.
