Fortunately the weather forecast is poor for the next few days so we may escape with an undeserved draw Awful wasn't it. I couldn't watch in the end. I had thought about 250 - and that would have been poor. But this is becoming regular now. Personally think Root just doesn't look right as Captain. He talks the talk, but doesn't exude confidence and calmness the way Morgan does. I'm also not at all convinced by the selection but that's another long post.

Ben Stokes looks more like Doris Stokes for his clairvoyance in missing this one.

Players have forgotten how to skilfully grind out a Test innings as they're so used to trying to smack it out of the park and their technique has suffered. Furthermore, it's contributed to the burn out of our best player. We're gonna get pumped in Australia. Nightmare.

Seeing how Australia won't come over for the Rugby League, would hardly be a surprise if they called off the Ashes. England need a serious rethink, including dropping Anderson and Broad and making them fight for their places for a while. Goes without saying, an opening partnership is most desperately required. Basically, I reckon the England test team lacks the intelligence for the game. Who's the brains Trust? Not anyone I would think is that clever. I can't stand Root's body language, but undoubtedly a good batsman.

I totally agree. The Hundred has literally just started, so cannot be a large factor in the Test team's demise. I would also suggest the Indians play nearly all one day cricket but it doesn't seem to have affected them the same. It's nowhere near as simple as one day cricket ruining test cricket - although it is a factor.

The hundred is a big success. I will miss my hundred fix when it ends. Test batting failure is not caused by the Hundred. They do not look prepared coming into this match, and high quality bowling from Bumrah and co. I knew he would get Burns first ball, and he did! Walking across his stumps again. Dohhhhh....
