This team doesn’t need a manager, it’ needs a physicist.

They need help to believe

We came second because we got it all wrong again. In fact, so wrong it makes you wonder how we got there at all!

There might be some who question his use of substitutions tonight.
In my humble opinion, Mount should have been withdrawn far earlier.
Henderson very disappointing.
How on earth did they have Saka taking penalties ? I really felt sorry for the poor lad but he should not have been placed in that position.

I'm with you on that. Massive pressure on young shoulders considering what it meant at that stage. Just needed to do it during the 90 minutes really. There was an ominous feel as penalties approached. They're always a coin toss.

Henderson should never play for his country again. One of those players who’s good for club but not country.

That’s right. We almost gave up after scoring. You can’t defend for 88 minutes!

You must be new here.... welcome to Palace ;-)

Should never have been in the squad in the first place, not having played for months.
Roy Keane was right on that.
BTW mods can you merge this with the euro thread please

Thanks willo.
I honestly believe we have got to the final despite the manager, not because of him.
Not playing Foden ,when fit, is negligence.
As if Southgate knows better than Pep.
Saka in front of Sancho?
Klinsmann thought not.
Our most consistent / best player has been Kyle Walker , by a mile.
If TAA had been fit he wouldn't have been in the squad despite being ,probably, the best defender in the PL all season.
Maguire and Shaw have been good and Stones very good.
Notice that the most praise you can level is on the defenders, despite having 2 holding midfielders in front and a wealth of attacking talent.
We need a coach to match the squad.

He just never got going, you're right. On that note while I tuned out all of the pundits tonight, Roy Keane is about the only one I have time for. Insightful and with genuine passion for the game..

People may think me mad( my doctor does and I have a copy of the letter for proof), but I still think Roy Has it in him to be a good manager.
Maybe he just needs a conduit to convey his thoughts to his players, as being held by the throat and screamed at doesn't seen6to have worked so far.
BTW IMHO he would be my holding midfielder in an all time team. He was that that good

He's a bit intense as a person (to put it mildly) but channeled or filtered somewhat I see where you're coming from. Having a conduit of sorts when you think about it is how a lot of foreign managers operate anyway to an extent, and so maybe it can be useful in terms of temperament not just translation!

I know all great players haven't made great players, but maybe they have lacked that conduit to translate down to the mere mortals.
Perhaps the conduit is the missing link.
I can relate to Keanes desire to win, and never give up.
Talent wise , universes away.
Sasa curcic for example.
That talent with Keanes discipline and you're looking at a balloon d'or
