It looks like double D's as stated earlier. We do not or will not spend copious amounts of money to managers and hopefully players who think we have limitless funds. Remember no fans for best part of 18 months. 25,000 when full. Players demand a small fortune in wages now because we are premier League and because of that everyone assumes we have lots of money. It may be the takeover is putting managers off but one thing is for sure we are the proverbial pork chop at a Jewish wedding. Edited by Chubskip (25 Jun 2021 9.04am)

Spurs have been rejected by 8 managers and counting. Don't you read the papers. But unlike us Spurs have sacked their managers, not had them walk out on them.

If you are correct and it is down to money then it reflects very badly on Parish, not because he sticks to his budget (which I applaud) but because he wastes time pursuing managers who almost certainly won't be within his budget. If he's not getting top boss prospects in because of the money we offer then he'd do better to focus on hiring someone like Cooper/Freedman/Ismael, bosses who aren't likely to demand huge contracts instead of running around after the likes of Nuno who are going to want more than we can afford to begin with. Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

However you should be able to work our quickly if someone is serious or using you to leverage another job. Time to lower our sights unless the magic money tree starts shaking. Whoever the board intend to appoint, they better do it quickly or they will miss out on this summer’s transfer market. The team is in desperate need of strengthening- currently fourth favourite to be relegated this year. To stay in the top league, you have to spend the money on players. Hopefully the breakdown of talks with Favre wasn’t a case of Parish prioritising a new Ferrari over a new central midfielder

If Favre had 'concerns about having enough energy to take on a move to a new country, a new league and a new language' as reported on the BBC, negotiations would never have got so far. Obviously something has spooked him at the last minute. I guess we'll never know.

Kept my powder dry on this whole managerial saga. Until now Frankly it seems to me that these prospective managers all have one reason or more for not signing and Favre takes the biscuit if want is being put out is true. Nuno - jumped up show pony who wanted to rip the heart out of out backroom set up. Lampard - Arrogant t*** Favre - Scared of the challenge Dyche - Comfortable at Burnley Cooper - Useless, neve really in the running. Parish - bull s***ter in chief. Freedman - in hiding or on holiday The yanks - could not give a toss. I am looking forward to being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB!

He wants the gig and would transform the playing side of things very much for the better. No appointment is risk free but I think he'd be our best bet by far.

Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB! So Lampard is a pundit but his reading of the game is astute. Thought the jump to manage Chelsea was a step too far too soon and one senses that is the club he wants to get to again in the fullness of time but with a need to gain much needed managerial experience elsewhere esp. a 'middling' club like ours in The Premiership. We're in a right ol' pickle now though with any prospective manager knowing that they were not first or even second choice. It may well be that Parish has to bring on board a stop-gap manager but, as we all know, ultimate priority is to stay in Premiership to secure any of the other long term goals that Board are looking towards - a reasonable transfer budget being a priority as well.
