It does look as if we are keen. Not everyone’s choice, but if he proves better than Mateta, it’s something.
Personally I think tied to a more offensive mid field set up he could prove a real asset. If he comes we move closer to what’s needed to give Viera,s new look side more teeth. And the fee suggested doesn’t look to different to what Mateta, would end up costing

This would be a really good signing imo.
His record in England U21’s is cause for optimism (along with the fact that he honestly can’t be any worse than what we have had for the last few seasons).
The main thing this lad has lacked is opportunity- which he should get with us.
A nice early goal in a Palace shirt could see him fly and his athleticism, mobility and pace give us something we’ve been missing.
Fingers crossed for this one!

It’s a gamble which hopefully will pay off if we sign him.
Bielsa didn’t play him much when on at loan at Leeds, but this was possibly due to the lone striker formation he employs and with Bamford in good form there was no role for Nketiah.
He also hasn’t done a great deal at Arsenal, but has had Lacazette and Aubameyang ahead of him to be fair.
If he comes to Palace, hopefully this would be the opportunity he needs.
I would be curious to see where he fits in to Vieira’s supposedly favoured 433 formation.
One of the front 3 with Benteke and Zaha or as a replacement for Benteke?
I suppose it will take care of itself if he joins.

I think he will be good for us. A striker that actually moves in the box and tries to get in front of his marker a la Calvin-Lewin. The exact polar opposite what we have now which is a statue in the shape of Benteke.

Nketiah doesn't look any better than JPM to me. Think if JPM is given a run he'll start banging them in. I'd take Edouard over all of them any day though. Quality striker. But then what do I know...in Steve and Dougie we trust!
COYP early days!

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

Totally agree with you.. Strikers thrive on goals.. once you get one more will come.. I think that’s true with JPM and Benteke....you can’t expect them to score unless they are given a run .. look at Bamford... prime example, given the run he’s now in the England squad.. we never gave him a chance....

What are you going on about??... Benteke has been given a run for the last 4 seasons and still can't score goals.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Thought the same. He’s played 139 games

Agree about the lump Tekkers but Mateta needs to be given a good run. For what ever reason not one of Roy's favourites. Had a knack of destroying players' confidence. Bless him

I think all of our transfer business so far has been very impressive but I think the the Nketiah deal is risky. He is a huge gamble simply because he is so unproven. Virtually impossible for anyone to give an assessment of him due to lack of minutes.

13 league starts, 32 sub appearances. 8 goals.

For a 22 year old he really ought to have had more game time. 1 fairly unsuccessful loan spell at Leeds just wasn’t enough. It’ll either be an amazing piece of business or we’ve just purchased a League 1 forward.
