I totally agree, why they have to stay on site is a mystery, but if accommodation comes out of wages, this may explain it. Something to do with profit, I assume. He is happy doing his scouting for Icelandic and Danish clubs, unfortunately atm still unpaid but good on his cv. Hope all is well matey

Why would anybody from the EU come here anymore, now the hostile environment has been extended to our former friends. I can assure you that there are still many EU nationals coming to the UK.... fact. so where you get the hostile environment from is a mystery

Uber drivers are all paye now and fair play to uber for stepping up to the mark. Shame LTDA can't form a cooperative to do the same for their members. Although I would imagine a bit less skimming or scooping could be done though so probably not what they want. On the flip side I do hope uber drivers don't throw their toys when at Xmas they are earning £120 a day but uber are making a grand. Uber didn’t have a choice - it was a Supreme Court ruling against them.

So why doesn't the same rule apply to black taxi drivers as they are self employed and have been for decades? LTDA is the black cabs. Read the post again as I mention that. They want to be self employed and Poirot isn't needed to work out the mystery why.

Uber didn’t have a choice - it was a Supreme Court ruling against them. The drivers bought the case to court. My point is when it's good it's very good for cabbies. CP will vouch for that. When it's bad like covid times it's bad. My point about earnings they used to get still stands though. Guarantee the unions will have them on strike over Xmas bonuses they aren't contracted to get.

This country is still an attractive place to live for many.

I said if the LTDA set up a cooperative or whichever it would be to employ the black cabbies and pay a wage, hols and pension. Nothing to do with HMRC.

Who needs employment agencies? 700 illegals crossed in boats last week ... they've become a regular source of labour. Send a few coaches down the south east coast to make regular pick ups at appointed spots. The word will soon get around.
