It's the stand out point.

For those out there who genuinely would have no comment about a white actor playing Nelson Mandela then I have no issues with them. They are colour blind and while I think it's unusual it's well meaning and consistent.

I can see the argument that it's a fresh take and it's obviously not trying to be historical..... then if that's the genuine intent then I have no objection....the artist must be allowed their flair. In the past white actors played non white characters and while there was huge complaint I think that was also innocent......So really it's about intent.....Do I trust them on that? Nope...not as far as I could throw them....it's done to be controversial and and get views because non white playing white will be praised by the people they care about....whereas the colour reverse would be criticised.

In the US they have zeroed in on the actor being from the same background and the politics of these people varies very little from the 'woke' running our media and entertainment in the UK.

So, I think we can pretty well be certain that if a white guy was playing a well known non white figure then both the media and 'diversity' activists would be shouting from the hilltops and the people involved would find it difficult getting jobs.
