What a bunch of pathetic losers on this site. Maradona was class on the football pitch. Great entertainment. Probably the most talented footballer ever. If you cannot appreciate that, maybe you should be looking to take up a different sport. And if you want to point the blame at someone for ruining England's hopes, there have been plenty of English candidates over the last 54 years. He may have been a fabulous footballer but unfortunately, he was a crackhead and a cheat too. Irrespective of his great talent he came across as a flawed character. There are many more people in the world worthier of respect.

Do you think the same of Lance Armstrong and Ben Johnson? Maybe people can forgive him for cheating for a goal, however blatant it was, but not the drug taking whilst still a footballer.

Diego was a great footballer and a poxy father. We can either blame Diego for not getting involved (in the life of his son) or blame Diego's girlfriend for getting pregnant without much consent. Edited by PalazioVecchio (26 Nov 2020 10.04am)

what's the difference between players diving for penalties and using your hand to score? Or is that not the reference you mean by calling him a "cheat" ? cup Originally posted by Cucking Funt
This post has been merged from a topic called 'Maradona RIP' by becky As has been said, a drug taking cheat. Let's hope there isn't anyone like him ever again.

Lots of great players in great teams but very few can be said to have single handedly won the world cup.

This is a tired and lazy argument. The keeper wouldn't expect the striker to stick his hand out in what would otherwise have been a reasonably comfortable clearance. The next question is would the next goal have happened if the England players weren't shell shocked from the cheating 4 minutes earlier. The world cup win should probably have an * next to it forever. The guy cheated at every opportunity. There's a photo of him doing the rounds on social media in a shower with two very short, very young looking women. It's so dodgy there's not a chance I'm going to share it.

I think the referee and linesman knew and didn't particularly care.
