I do get the impression that in the main, our supporters do not believe we will finish in the relegation places. In our next 4 PL games,3 of our opponents are in the top 6 and A.Villa who are currently not in that position are above us and have 2 games in hand on most of the teams. Our position in the table might not look so encouraging after those run of games. Furthermore we have an ageing squad and this season will place great demands on them from a physical standpoint possibly leading to fatigue and we could well suffer injuries to key players. It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that we could well get immersed in a relegation battle and ultimately lose our PL place. You seem to relish the thought of relegation. The problem is, we are now scoring goals this season, which doesn’t help you get in the bottom 3.

Or better, I'm sure I've seen him post that we're going to be relegated for the last 8 seasons, every time failing the forecast, but every season posting it again.

At this juncture I am far from convinced that we will not be plunged into a relegation battle. Some of the teams in the lower reaches have improved their results,WBA might well get a 'Bounce' from a new manager and we have an ageing squad which will be tested physically this season.

It's taken a long time for many Palace fans to believe that we are capable of staying up. Most of the teams that go down do so because of a combination of arrogance, complacency, and poor management. Whist 9points + GD clear of Fulham seems a lot, although no where near enough to get comfy. I suspect all the teams above us won't get drawn into a relegation scrap. We are currently top of the group of 8 teams in contention for the bottom 3. A decent ebough position, but not in a place to take anything for granted. Sheffield United will be bottom at Christmas and won't catch us. That leaves 2 relegation places between 7 teams. West Brom could easily be boosted by a new manager. Fulham and Burnley are starting to pick up points. Brighton, Leeds, and Newcastle could well be boosted by decent January signings. I'd like at least 2 points from the next 3 to keep giving us breathing space.

They look very much like joining the relegation pack.

Sheffield United are finished. West Brom could make a re-emergence, as could Fulham who are starting to pick up points and have games in hand. Brighton are now the most likely contender for 18th in my eyes. Currently our 9 point cushion looks comfortable but its not half way through the season yet. Let's hope they don't sack Potter. Bloom seems to make successive bad managerial choices and squander cash in the transfer market.

I don't think Big Sam will save Baggies. They basically need 30 points from the remaining 21 games to stand a chance and I just don't see it happening. As to the 3rd relegation spot, I see it as being between Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle. It will be interesting to see the extent of financial backing the new Burnley owners give to Dyche, but even wit4hout it, Dyche is canny enough to keep Burnley out of the drop zone, as is our own manager. The big unknown, of course, is the continuing impact of COVID. For example, Newcastle have been dealt a big blow with St Maximin and Lascelles(?) struggling to recover from it and if they've got the so-called 'Long COVID', we may not see either of them again this season. It just needs us to have an outbreak at our club and the key players to get the nasty complications and we could be up he proverbial without a paddle. Barring that, though, we should be ok. That Christmas period was telling for the teams placed in the bottom three . For me Sheffield are gone and so have West Brom, even Fat Sam will struggle to turn this around, in fact they are doing worse now than under Slaven. So that leaves the third spot, Fulham are showing signs that they could get out of it and have games in hand on the team directly above them Brighton. So I am going for Brighton to go down which I and everyone on here will be delighted with. They should have stuck with Chris Houghton and I can only see Potter taking them to the Championship. The M23 derby will have to go on hold until they sort themselves out in the Championship, but as we know that is the toughest division to get out of. Fair well to the delusional fans of BHA, keep singing Sussex by the sea....
