The most unsavoury thing they have done is to point a gun at your head saying if you don't renew you will lose your seat for Season 2021/22. Whoever came up with that idea needs the bullet not us loyal supporters.

Thinking on it further, it's a double kick in the teeth if, like me, you waived a refund on last season's and donated instead to the Academy

Agree.

In terms of paying the full ST up front does not sit right with me at all. It should be maximum 50% and that’s bring extremely optimistic with maybe 5 games give or take been allocated.

Not only do they want an interest free loan from season tickets holders you could well end up in the Whitehorse lane end. AW or main stand

And what happens to fanatics will they have special permission to sit near each other or worse still I could be sitting amongst them next to that drum!
Five games in the season if your lucky, what atmosphere? And a week to decide! All in all much as I love palace is it worth all the hassle!!

Zenith Data Systems Cup 1990-1991 Final - Crystal Palace beat Everton 4-1 after extra time. I was there.

I came across this as per following article.

Season tickets should be 17,501 - if they hadn"t put mine up by 60%, but alas they did, and i didn"t! With the biggest CONservative donor in our owner !(direct line fella, unless he left) you have to put it all down to business,we (or you), are nothing but paymasters in a business, not family as some like to believe, our (your) loyalty means nothing now the tv money is calling the shots, it"s all about the money, and like so many other things you sign up for these days, usually will screw you over if they feel they can, and they feel they can! It"s a race to the bottom chaps- COYP!

I donated to the academy as it's what I wanted to do for my club.
Right or wrong to do it the refund wouldn't have changed my life.
It may start an academy players.
This needs isolating as a separate issue totally.

Thats an incredibly naive view point and totally only relevant to your own circumstances.

I too donated to the academy but there are some that had they known they would be asked to pay full price upfront for a product they know they will not get full value from, even with a refund/credit at the end of year the ST money donated may well have made the difference to some who decide not to renew.

The club aren't asking for full price up front as they are deducting the cost of the first two games:

'The prices reflect the fact that no fans will be permitted to attend the first two home league games, meaning prices are in effect 17/19ths of last season's Season Ticket price'

However this is still wrong and no substantive payment up front should be asked for.

Also not knowing what games you'll get, they say a mix of Cat A & B games so probably 1 A & 2 B's if you're lucky, you can't plan anything and then you've got cup games on top so how will they work?

I believe Arsenal are only asking ST holders for a set contribution which gets them in to a lottery for match tickets and if at the end you get more than your contribution you pay the excess or vice versa if you get less, I think this isn't a bad idea myself.

From me personally though my son is registered disabled and I attend as his carer but I pay for his ticket every season, albeit at concession rate, yet this season he will not be guaranteed to be able to sit in the seat he has had for nigh on 20 seasons now and this will affect him greatly due to him being severely autistic.

I have pondered not renewing his and just buying mine at full price or even paying the £200 to hold his ticket for 21/22 (which should keep my seat too) but as he isn't self shielding how will this work?

I have emailed Pam Groves and am still awaiting a reply but they are obviously snowed under with this farce.

To be honest I don't really think next season is going to be as enjoyable as it was, even if it is 'like it was back in the 80's' crowd wise, so there's not a lot to miss IMO.

Also there will probably be another wave of CV19 so more cancelled games and fans being told to stay away.

Good luck to all that do renew, writing this has now made my mind up, and hopefully I'll be back in my seat in 21/22 with my 2 sons and their 3 friends and I will miss it but that's my choice.

COYP!

I’m not buying that bollox because:

1) there won’t be any new season ticket holders in 20-21 season so

2) lapsed Covid season ticket holders from 19-20 could be priority before general sale in the 21/22 season or

3) they put us lapsed for one Covid season fans in with general sale and risk losing a lot of fans that rely on their seats for various reasons, mainly the view, being in an area that suits them and amongst mates they won’t be able to guarantee if its a big general sale free for all.

I’m not buying it, or the season ticket for a chance to watch 5 games I may not be able to get to or even want to. Armchair for me. See you in a year.

This is all on the assumption fans will be allowed back even if reduced numbers. However if there is a second wave or the situation deteriorates, maybe we won’t be allowed back at all. Would they then have the front too charge £5 to watch on Palace tv having paid for a season ticket.
