I guess it says that the bosses see them as lower standard and so not playing. Kirby is twenty, about the same age as this youngster so it seems a bit of a judgement on him. If we only have a certain amount if money to spend, midfielders are not our priority this window. I would think a permanent CF and young CB are priorities. So using one of our loans on a very promising youngster to give the midfield a bit of energy makes sense to me. We can sort out some permanent deals next summer...

I know they say there’s no option to buy but let’s be honest, he’d have to be world class to become a regular in the Chelsea team with the quality of players they are bringing in. I’d be surprised if in a season from now they weren’t prepared to do business at the right price.

IMO our better youngsters need to be playing competitive football in the Championship, but first they need to show they are good enough for a Championship club to take them on loan.

His value will increase considerably after a season with Palace if things go well. If things go extremely well, they'll keep him. If not they'll sell but for increased value

Kirby's play was very well received out on loan at Blackpool. He should have been brought in earlier and is probably just as good potentially as these two signings.

Perhaps potentially (I don't know) but perhaps not yet as advanced as the other two (and if you are talking about Eze as one of the two signings then Kirby will need to go some to match him). I do think, though, that Kirby might get some PL exposure once it is looking like we'll have a decent season.

Leeds are also after Gallagher even if it's on loan. I'm guessing that would be incase their deal with Udinense for de Paul falls though. I hope it does, as I don't wasnt to see de Paul firing into our net. He is an absolute steal at 31m... Bielsa would be laughing. As for Gallagher, I'm not convinced although we do of course need back-up in the middle. We need back-up everywhere as usual.
Mine's a light and bitter. |

I think SP must be looking at the academy it hasn't delivered much - a couple of stars in 10 years. Managers seem loathe to promote, only a dire injury situation gives them any chance.

It's category 1 now and will begin to repay investment (cross fingers). A lot of under 23 players have featured so far in preseason, which is a good sign
