Townsend injury has been a blow but on the upside Meyer is getting more game time, as well as Tekkers when he was fit.

Hmmm...is this really a good thing? Do they..actually....do anything good?

Our injury problems are certainly contributing to our lack of goals. Makeshift fullbacks are rightly staying back to keep defence as solid as possible + not really fast enough to get back in a hurry when they do foray forward. This means Wilf gets even less support than usual. I suspect our midfield are also staying deper to help with our lack of speed in defence.
For the injury situation loans are clearly the way to go.
For permanent additions: We clearly need better cover at fullback and on the wings. If Roy stays then there is no need to find a number 10 as he is unlikely to change his system to accomodate one. If we could shift either Benteke or Wickham then we should look for a younger more energetic prospect to cover for Ayew and we will need some cover.
Suspect if we can ditch Camarasa then we can hope for a couple of loans and maybe a full back this window.

Incredibly poor in defence. But has pace, can scramble back and can dribble. Can hit a ball well. Lacking in intelligence and strength. Truthfully, Ward is probably better - Ward would be Coventry's best player when you consider the level.

I'd agree about PVA, but do you really think that if Ward plays, we'd score more goals??

I agree the right back position remains a problem. Wan-Bissaka was great in defence but even he wasn't that great going forward. I never saw Ward for this season as anything more than a stand-in right back.

However a settled defence does help the team as a whole play further up the pitch which must surely help with making goal-scoring chances.

Depends on whether we lose Wilf. But signings Roy wants and rates rather than some in the past that weren't on his radar.

We need:

A 25 year old Marco van basten

A 25 year old zidane just behind him

And a 25 year old Chris waddle on the other wing

Then we’d compete with Liverpool let alone top ten

Simples

weve not scored goals for almost 3 seasons now...i find it hard to fathom why people think its a new thing.

we either score loads & concede loads - pards

or

we either score less & concede less- roy

the latter produces better results so im happy to stick with that.

also...on another note, the type of signings we need.

we need to set up & academy in places like eastern europe or africa to provide the best talent with a top notch education & a pathway to PL football.

you find one wilf of awb every 5 years and its paid for itself.

He certainly knows how to score (except against Celtic) but he’s also had 39 yellow & 7 red cards in two and a half seasons.

The refs are stricter across Hadrian's Wall, and the play is more volatile. Might just get one red every season down here.
