Interesting video clip.

What do you make of Jack Merritt's dad's message?

"Jack lived his principles; he believed in redemption and rehabilitation, not revenge, and he always took the side of the underdog.

"Jack was an intelligent, thoughtful and empathetic person.

"We know Jack would not want this terrible, isolated incident to be used as a pretext by the government for introducing even more draconian sentences on prisoners, or for detaining people in prison for longer than necessary,"

He is wrong.
It's that sort of thinking that has led to the death of his son and the other victim on friday.

Yep, you can encourage too much empathy....moderation in all things.

Except sex and doughnuts.

It's a bit weird to politicise a son's death.

Premeditated killing by someone they were trying to help.

That's the bit I can't make out. And it's from a tweet, so I guess it's accurate.

I don't think he is politicising his sons death I think he is trying to stop that happening Johnson and Corbyn have already weighed in.

I do think he is wrong but you have to respect the man if that was my child I would go looking for someone so credit to him for upholding his sons views.

I blame both Tories and Labour for their policies on law and order, human rights and immigration and deportation.

They made this problem they need to sort it. Fat chance.

Well we differ perhaps on that one small point but not on the rest....but that's fine.

Clean your hands after handling those doughnuts or there’s going to be some painful friction if you’re unlucky, added stimulation if you’re lucky.

Such a big wide inviting sugary hole seems such a wasted opportunity.

Mind you custard is my favourite.....which I admit is a bit unusual....but at least it isn't disgusting like those jammy ones.

Those people should be on the sex offender's list.

Unless I've missed something, Yvette Cooper seems to have been the first on this.

Marge Simpson is a lucky girl.
Once in Dunfermline I was presented with a doughnut which contained mincemeat. It was deeply unpleasant.
