If we lose Wilf (in fact even if we don't) then I really hope we bring in another flair player like Eze. If we got him for between 15-20m I could see him more than repaying that fee and if he doesn't work out his proven calibre in the Championship would ensure we'd probably get a reasonable chunk of our fee back. I've gotten my hopes up so many times in the last few years that I no longer have any faith that we'll sign a player that'll get my pulse racing. If we got this one done early doors I do think it would be a good sign of intent and would be a boost after what will probably be 8 straight losses.

Having a player who can play across the front line is something we tend to plump for as well. Bowen came to W.Ham for £20 Mill on the back of him scoring 17 goals for Hull this season, which followed on from 22 goals the previous season. Eze only scored 4 goals last season but has done better this season scoring 13 goals.

The Wet Spam rumours for him are back according to the Beeb and Standard. Both acknowledge we're interested in the "£20m rated player" but apparently Eze is one of the Spammers' "top transfer targets". I suppose it was a case of waiting till Wet Spam were mathematically safe before repeating this rumour. I suspect we will have to look elsewhere now.
