Supposedly we're going to (or have) bid £4 million [Link] At that price seems a much better gamble than paying £10-15 million for KWP and I imagine his wages would be lower. I don't know as he would be first-team ready from the off though. I concur. £4million is peanuts these days. He’s proved himself at championship level, relatively young with room to improve and can play in positions where we lack depth. Even if it all went wrong after I would always say was worth a pop, the kind of signings we’ve needed to be making.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

He will be center back with Cahil and Tomkins (starters) and Sakho (27 million club investment. Probably means Kelly will be given up to a Championship club in the summer.

He’s a bit short for me. So unless he turns out to be world class then let’s hope he nails down a career at full back.

Every game he’s played has been at right back or covering for left back! Been very impressed every game I’ve seen him play for West Brom and I remember watching his debut at forest and thinking he reminded me abit of awb, solid well timed tackles. Really hope we can pull this one off and another winger before the deadline.

The reason why people are calling him a centre back is because he has played there in the youth set up. AWB was a winger in the youth set up...now he’s a 50m right back. It’s all completely irrelevant where people have played at youth level. Some people like to think they know better of course.

I am not aware of Ferguson playing as a central defender for WBA this season. Edited by Willo (26 Jan 2020 4.47pm)

Think he's also been tipped by those who know him well to end up as a center half. However he's clearly gained his top level experience as a fullback. For me I think it'd be great to have a player come in who can continue to build his his experience as a fullback and if he ends up becoming a better CB for us then great as it's easier to replace a RB (I'm aware of the irony here but I do believe that's the true, we just love to make heavy weather of things)

Ferguson reminds Slaven Bilic of Declan Rice whom he managed at W.Ham,adding that whilst Ferguson is a teenager he has the maturity of someone in their mid to late 20s.

We will sign him as FB and won’t get rid of one of the best squad players we have in Kelly.

Sorry to say I don’t think it will ever happen certainly not for that money. This will be another one of those we didn’t quite get over the line!

We will not get any signings over the line . We are skint . We are only capable of getting loan players in .
