Could be worse, we could be West Ham, no matter how many gazillions they spend, they still end up s***e or below average at best With a brand new, basically free, ground.

With respect you have mis-interpreted my comments perhaps because I never explained my viewpoint very well (Which is quite normal!). All I was trying to impart is that Parish is working around the clock on club business at this busy time and with nothing really to report on transfers is concentrating all his efforts in this direction. When there are any positive developments to report I suspect he might break his radar silence. In terms of silence during the summer windows, I am led to believe that it is a very busy time for clubs and if it was me I would be getting on with the job in hand and only take to the media if I had something positive to report to the supporters in terms of transfers etc. I’m intending this to be my last word, so if you reply I’ll have to ignore it or the thread gets derailed. If Parish wanted to comment he would. He doesn’t have every minute of the day taken up by phone conversations with other clubs and talks with DF and other scouts. Don’t be so ridiculous. It takes a couple of minutes to make a comment, and I suspect he’s been asked plenty by journos this summer. Or you think he sleeps in a sleeping bag in the office in Soho, Selhurst or Beckenham and eats baked beans until August 9th/10th.

With the greatest of respect, I have given my opinion as to a possible reason why Parish has not rushed to the media to pass official comment - nothing of any significance to report! Accordingly I really have nothing to add. Clearly you and I are not birds on the same twig on this matter ! Take care and enjoy your weekend. Edited by Willo (20 Jul 2019 12.25pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called '“drink it in”' by Midlands Eagle i was listening to a podcast on my way home from work yesterday & it was about the 10 year battle between man utd & arsenal with wenger & fergie. it it there was a line that some arsenal fans dad who had been going for 50 years told him to “drink it in” when watching the invincible as he was never going to see a team better than that. i feel that instead of moaning & digging out anybody senior within the club we should be thinking this about our current squad & position within the world of football pyramid as halcyon days supporting palace. if you had told me 10 years ago our squad would contain players of the quality of sakho pva luca meyer townsend wilf bentekkers i would have laughed at you...however it foes, we are a established mid table PL team with our best ever squad, with our best ever player & people arnt happy. have so many people been brainwashed by slysports that they are at braking point because we havnt signed another player nobody has ever heard off instead of actually appreciating what we actually already have? we really should be “drinking it in” and savouring times like these, when it comes to our current level of success, the current squad of players we have, and level of football we play on ocassions is brilliant.

This post has been merged from a topic called '“drink it in”' by Midlands Eagle We want to be able to savour Premier League football, which means we need a Premier League squad. We're not ready to say "Oh well, that was nice while it lasted" just yet; if we did some decent business, brought in a couple of new full-backs and a striker, maybe another attacking option, we'd be absolutely sorted. Instead we've let the striker problem fester season after season, signing donkeys and extending their contracts, selling our right-back with no ready replacement, creating a squad that's hugely expensive while having no depth.

If you're satisfied with Benteke and Wickham as our options up front then we've got very different points of view.
