I'm not bothered in the slightest by pre-season friendly results. They don't mean anything.

Indeed, especially as we already knew before today that we have a paper-thin squad that can't really function without Zaha.

Townsend put a shift in as usual the rest of the team well.... best we get back to beckinham quick smart and put together some attacking moves and focus on keeping the ball

Pre season game maybe, but perhaps those in denial might just get a little idea of how abysmal our defence will be if we have Dann, Ward, and Kelly in it.

We have to have better replacements for when we inevitably lose Tomkins and Sakho through injury.

Having the quality of Bissaka hid the true problems.

Up front, our current choices are laughable.

Well, that sounded predictable especially with Slow sloth upfront. Still, dont panic we have Ayew to come in !!!!!

We have survived on Zaha for so long, our team is devoid of ideas without him.

.

I'm guessing the best part of the summer is that Kouyate has played well in Africa Cup as a central defender

I do not jump into conclusions in this stage of the season nevertheless there are a few remarks in my modest opinion:
Between the sticks Guaita as good reflexes but when it comes to get outside the sticks is always very insecure (remember last season).
Max Meyer is a must have in the starting line up.
Life without Zaha could it be very similar to this... I expect the board must be pretty aware off!
We need at least one RB, CB (Tomkins and Sakho are injury prone) and a striker (we'll remember those good old days!)

I accept that it's a pre-season knockabout, but it's nevertheless somewhat concerning that the team we put out - even though not our strongest - could be so poor against such low grade opposition.

Early days and all that but this doesn't look good!

Inability to keep possession, misplaced passes, no threat on their goal, etc and looking vulnerable at the back - nothing changes!
Meyer looks to be overweight too.

Change of personnel will be needed if we are to survive - our scouting team need to be on the ball.

On today's evidence, our scouting team might as well be on the pitch.

What today's game Vs Young Boys underlined is we desperately need a replacement for AWB. Benteke and Sorloth were dumb and dummer today. Steve Parrish WE NEED A STRIKER WHO ACTUALLY SCORES ASAP.
