The difference with Baker is he represents his company and has a responsibility towards public broadcasting

I can see how a person could make a mistake like this out of innocence but it's a bit dim....which is amusing because Baker seems quite smart.

The politically correct and the dim love the chimp equals black stuff, though to be fair to the BBC in the current climate I don't see how they had much wiggle room. Still, by reacting they give the concept power by recognising it....rock and a hard place.

Still, If people want to connect chimps and monkeys to black people then fine but don't they realise that all humans are related to chimps and other great apes not just blacks. Not forgetting that whites also come from blacks themselves.....and as for monkeys they are on a different evolutionary branch from humans.

While I actually do recognise the genetic differences between classical groups.....which the social constructionists wish to wave away.....silly and demeaning taunts that don't make much sense are just that.

Still, while the chimp equals black concept is always a bit weird to me the reality that Harry married a dud isn't.

Lots of people do. That's what makes it a valid topic for discussion, surely. HOL hasn't created the issue; Danny Baker and the BBC have.
