Once again comes in and shows his class. It is getting quite glaring to see MacArthur start ahead of Meyer. That miss from MacArthur today was a train wreck, truly embarrassing stuff. Meyer is such a better player coming forward, MacArthur wasn’t playing def mid today he was getting forward so can someone explain to me how MacArthur is the better option for that role over Meyer? Appreciate your frustration and agree. We all love Macca, but we can't win games on guts and thunder alone. Roy only seems to change things up when it is forced on him. I was shocked to see Ayew on the bench, perhaps he was carrying a knock? Meyer won't be with us by the end of the summer and I bet wherever he goes he turns out to be f***ing magic.

I can answer it like this Meyer is a chance creator not really a goalscorer With that in mind let’s now consider how many chances we currently create....fking loads. As good as Meyer reputedly is, is he the position we need to change? Yeah, cos he was clinical today 🙄

Thought he was class coming on for the second game running. Roy will probably justify that by emphasising what a great super sub he is but that's not going to keep him at the club. In my opinion Milo and Meyer should be starting and the selection dilemma should be whether McArthur or Kouyate join them. Edited by Canterbury Palace (09 Feb 2019 6.14pm)

Roy isn't the type of manager to throw the dice far and long. He isn't a young manager trying to prove himself in the PL, he is a solid pair of hands with decades of managerial experience. He is in his twilight years, foremost getting us over the line in the PL and then a cheeky Cup run is the plan.

Against teams that sit back against us at Selhurst, we must start Meyer. Allows us to move the ball much better - it's so bloody slow without him. I get that maybe he doesn't have the defensive solidity that Roy wants, but when teams come to Selhurst and show little ambition to come at us, Meyer gives us an edge.

Max is one of our best players in my view and offers a lot, he's got fast feet and plays well with Wilf.

We so often seem slow out of the blocks. Perhaps that's down to Roy's caution. We only pick it up in the second half, very strange. Perhaps that's why Roy doesn't want to play Meyer from the off, he'd rather try and keep it tight. Personally I don't think we need 2/3 defensive mids at home and we should get at teams with a player like Meyer who can move the ball quickly and accurately.
