It would be a disaster for the club if Zaha is sold.

He is the best player we have ever had in terms of skill and our Premier League status would probably disappear along with any idea that that Palace have an ounce of ambition.
I'd rather the owners buggered off and sold the club to someone who actually wants to achieve something.

The yearly spin around the plug hole is only going to end one way and I suspect that all concerned are more interested in lining their pockets than success.

Anyone fed up with mediocrity?

Goodbye Wilf and goodbye to my last hopes of seeing us become a proper club in my lifetime.
Football is about players. Sell the good ones and you have nothing left except a few thousand fans who would turn up to watch a dog turd if it had a red and blue shirt on.

Awaits some twit to tell me to go and support City after supporting Palace since I was four. That's fifty years by the way.

Easy Hrolf. Usually when we get these rumours talking about bidding wars for our best players etc., the club either states that there has been no approach, or they publicly advise said clubs to do one. And the players don't want to leave.

I know, that's the club line on it. Funny thing, the players actually stay.

BTW we are the same age.

No we need to bring in a winger first, otherwise we will get striped up on the price once people know we have the Zaha money.
Bournemouth done it the right way, signed a replacement for Callum Wilson before they sell him. That way they will get top money for Wilson and won’t pay over the odds on a replacement.

That would be what we would do if the people running the club made smart moves....

Also FFP could be a factor there, see my previous comment on who is to blame on that one.

We will sell Zaha then spend ages messing around and maybe finally sign a replacement at 11pm on deadline day, or....if his brother/agent wants a bung then Zaha wont be replaced that window.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I'd just like remind folk about what happened when we sold Ian Wright - and on the relative cheap - we were relegated the season after...

Would be gutted to see him go...
The only silver lining would be that we wouldn't need to see him playing against us in another Premier League teams kit

I always think a bit of overreaction is required when I see Zaha and sell in the same sentence.
What really irritates me is when some of our own fans say they don't mind.

Wow, some of them must dream of wet cold nights in the Championship.

Well of course not. Players like Wilf are irreplaceable. Clubs like Palace can only dream about having a player of his quality for as long as we have. He is loyal and he is a Palace fan. Very unique.
Its almost the same as Le Tiss at the Saints except this is an era where loyalty in football is as rare as rocking horse manure.
Eventually he will leave. Better to get the best money for him while his value is at its peak. If we can buy a decent winger to fill the position (Demerai Gray?) who would cost a third of what we'll get for Wilf and spend the rest on a quality striker and a creative midfielder (If Roy is never going to use Meyer in that role)

Did Le Tissier leave Southampton? Nope.
We need to keep Wilf. His monetary value is nothing compared to his presence in the team and staying in the Prem.

im pretty much in agreement with this. fair enough, if he wants to go, i wouldnt begrudge him that, tho.
but i honestly dont think we're going forward as a club. still in relegation dog fights, still always linked with the same average players, that agents flog about to the same few clubs...us, fulham, west ham, newcastle, everton etc. we're getting left behind by the likes of brighton and bournemouth. and as someone else said earlier, if we got 50 mill or more, i couldnt trust the club to spend it wisely tbh.

How many players have gone to the Bundesliga after being established in the PL for a club ? Quite a few talented youngsters over there agreed. Robben perhaps ? Obviously Champs League might be a pull. Think more likely that Wilf will step up to a big PL club in the future for quite a bit more, the Arse being my favourite like Wrighty.

If Wilf does go, then the club will just stick Schlupp on the left and Towhsend on the right Schlupp is one of Roy's faves after all.
