The British were aiming for blackmail the Germans were looking for extermination. And these forms of camps were hardly an 'invention'....they were an increase in scale and organisation from what had always been done.

In all, about one in four (25 percent) of the Boer inmates, mostly children, died'. It was genocide not blackmail.

Well I've looked into it and while how the British conducted the war isn't anything like what we would view as acceptable now it most certainly wasn't genocide. In fact it's an outrageous claim that is very far from the truth. Comparing what the British did to the Nazi death camps is actually very off......multiple millions of Jews were deliberately murdered as state policy over years.
