But would he want to come back, he did turn down a contract extension in the summer. Think we can read between the lines a bit on that one. Sako and Cabaye were both offered contracts in the summer which would have been restricted due to the FFP limit on our wages, at the time we had no players outgoing. the reality and change now is that we have got players off our books this window and subsequently their wages. Yes Michy may well have filled up a lot of that wage capacity but there may be some left over for Cabaye alongside him maybe willing to take a reduced offer as things have not gone well for him since he left.

Excellently put. Highly likely

Hopefully, a possibility given that we stand a decent chance of progressing in the FA Cup as well. A strong squad firing on all cylinders could reap the rewards in coming weeks. Can't do an individual's CV any harm if he is looking to win a last big pay cheque in the US or China.

Isn't that why he went to Dubai as well or was it due to the 2 year deal and we were offering a shorter one ? Also why did he leave earlier than expected ? Don't get me wrong would be happy to have him on a short term deal until the end of the season but the above may be telling for the transfer dealers within the club and also his expectations.

Obviously, it didn't work out for his employers who terminated his contract on value for money concerns. He wasn't the only big earner who was released by them. Cabaye may already have something else lined up but if the seasons don't overlap he may be interested in playing some football in familar surroundings to keep himself fit.

Cabaye was released from his contract early alongside Rosa and Marquinhos from Al Nasr. Apparently Al Nasr have had a disappointing start to their season and believe they have made some management staff changes. It has the feel of something is not quite right at the club but I cannot substantiate that at all.
