Well i have witnessed this sort of thing for 8 years as i lived in Saudi Arabia from 4-12years old. I was always in fights because i was English and White and the when i went there after 9/11 (as my dad still worked out there) they were loving it and bouncing around i felt physically sick and eventually did cause a fight as i got to wound up with them needless to say i was the one who got arrested because im white and the old arab saying "if i wasnt there it wouldnt of happend" but never got charged. They are all sickos and need there heads kicked in which is what happend to them in the end and they shut up and became normal people well some of them, we still got grief but not as much. All im saying is that i think after they have there heads kicked in they will think again before they try to do something.

Quote redacted If you insist. Picking up on just one of your posts:"those who shoot at our troops should be brought to justice!"Ah indeed... so thats the entire opposing army for the duration of the war. On that basis, those who we shoot at have a right to bring our troops to justice.Or what of:"If they had no oil they would still be living in tents!"We have far less oil, but we're not living in tents. Historically we just developed more quickly, and once a significant proportion of the world has developed, its harder for the developing nations to do so.But this is getting off topic, so I digress.Edited by Legal Eagle (14 May 2004 12:14am)

Quote redacted Dark side is a joke as regards the BBS.Sorry, but this war is not over. As much of the media/US administration claim - this is the forefront of the war on terror (if not the Iraq War any longer). In WW2 countries that were invaded by Hitler and his allies we're occupied, and resistance movements were 'partisans' and we're helped by us. Their aim was to liberate their countries from what they believed we're foreign invaders. Now I'm sure that a lot of the insurgence stems from terrorists, but there is a genuine element who see the Western occupiers as an invading enemy, and are fighting for their freedom.

Quote redacted The uk is more developed and therefore more civilised. We are not living in tents because we are not fundamentally lazy Ok, so African countries in extreme poverty. Are they all fundamentally lazy? Is that the only reason that they are not in the same situation as we are?

i can really see where you're all coming from but i have to disagree with you to a certain extent, and in no way am i saying that it was right to behead Nick Berg. all i am saying is that we are in this was for our own interests totally against the wishes of most of the British population, and therefore couldnt give a toss about what happens to the people of Iraq. The soldiers are obviously on some sort of power trip and the abuse is all part of some elaborate game, and the beheading was straightforward retribution. Secondly, just because people think the abuse pictures were faked dosnt actually mean that the abuse didnt happen - just that there wasnt a camera there at the time, therefore the pictures were fabricated to fit the story. Thirdly, all human life is valuable, and who are we to say that all Iraqui's are evil. We're doing just as horrible things to them as they are doing to us, its just that we're sitting on this side of the fence and are being told by the government through the media that our cause is the right one. Fourthly, it has been the Western world, including Britain and the US that has messed up the rest of the world through globalisation and geopolitics, America are now emerging as colonisers, which Britain went through more than 100 years ago. Western businesses have become too powerful and the USA and UK have too much of a hold on the global economic market which stops poorer countries from developing, therefore the people feel trapped, and unlistened to by the rest of the world. You've got to look at the bigger picture - why have America gone into this war? why now? what do they want to achieve? all the issues in this conflict lie at the feet of Bush, especially as it was the USA who have supplied the Iraqui's with the majoroity of the weapons!
