A great loyal servant to the club. Best of luck at Charlton, Jonny.

Very few players have as much pride and commitment with representing their club. You could see in that video Jonny bled red and blue. A top bloke and an incredibly gifted player. His body let him down, but anyone that saw his first couple of seasons can be in no doubt about his ability. I really hope he kicks on and has the career he deserves. Will follow the results of Charlton from now on with one eye on how Jonny is getting on.

Top post, like it. What a miserable pair you are Those of us that saw him burst onto the scene saw a special player. His progress was blighted by injuries. It made sense to give him chances to return and he was never poor, just never delivered on the promise. That could just be because he didn’t get a decent run in the team. He has always been the kind of person you wish to succeed and a positive influence around the club. I do hope he gets a long run of games and ends up the star he had the potential to be. But it’s the right time for us to free up his slot.

But it’s the right time for us to free up his slot. I saw him 'burst' onto the scene and never understood the fawning. He was good, but always took/needed a lot of time on the ball which was never going to cut it at a higher level. He had some potential nearly a decade ago and was unlucky with injuries. That said, to be happy to sit in our reserves for YEARS doesn't deserve respect nor does it show ability. No premier league manager, and we've had a few very experienced ones, fancied him. He should've gone years ago and didn't. He's not stayed for the love of the club, anybody able to play professional football wants to do just that: he's stayed for the salary.

I'm not sure that he has been happy to sit in the reserves as he has been out on loan for most of the time that he hasn't been injured with this season being the exception as he hoped to force his way into the first team.

Ipswich totally adored him, injury ruined that.

He played 12 games for Sunderland last year, probably his most productive loan spell. The Rosey tints on this site boggle the mind. Even had geezers advocating Hodgson as an excellent England manager the other day. Palace delusion syndrome lol

Celebrating going up, then getting a further contract. Hold the tears back when watching the full interview with us. Just watched it...got water in my eyes
