Sussex police too busy tracking down people tweeting chutney ferret jokes.

Two people released without charge. Another triumph for them, arrested a guy who was at work in Crowborough when the drones were flying just because he's a drone hobbyist.

I hope they can sue someone they're faces have been plastered across the tabloids before they were even charged and now the police say they are innocent.

Normally I would agree with you. However in this case 2 innocent people have had their names and pictures dragged through the mud and it now appears they are perfectly innocent. I don't know if they have grounds for a claim or even if they will make one but it does seems unfair that the media could not wait until they were charged before naming and shaming them.

Sorry, it wasn't very clear. I meant sarcastically that the arrest was another triumph for our mates the Sussex Police (not).

That's pretty bad.....You'd think the press could wait before the pictures and names come out.

Innocent until proven guilty.

I would be amazed If they haven't got grounds to sue?

It's also being reported that the police are saying that there may not of been an actual drone in the first place? Which is what I thought funny as there were no actual photographs or video footage of them.

this whole story gets more odd, unless there was some sort of mass hysteria at Gatwick, people must have seen them, there is enough staff/police working during the night, and with no flights they must have been seen. The arrest of the 2 in Crawley, smacks a bit of our friends in Sussex Police being seen to be doing something.
I think nobody has a clue on who did this & why

This whole saga is very confusing.

The police are now suggesting the drone didn't exist however I have seen pictures of something. The police also say they have found a damaged drone so which is it.

As this was an airport I assume they have radar and as nothing else was flying could they not see it?
