Only thyme will tell. If we lose I shall be sorrel.

Could be a banana skin (a left field herb reference there my herb loving friend).

Sadly no chicory from Zaha but Townsend will dill them much sage with another rocket!

There is an awful connection between maple trees and today's visitors, not today.

Pessimism is the overall feeling of the many on here, I agree, but only last season we beat Leicester home and away by an aggregate score of 8-0.

Interesting to know your thoughts as to what has gone so badly wrong in a matter of months amid so much positivity at the end of last season.

Are we missing Benteke,Cabaye and RLC to the extent that without them,we are flirting with relegation??

I believe that the squad is not as strong as last season and the transfer activity in recent windows has been questionable.I am also of the opinion that Milivojevic in that crucial midfield 'Engine room' has not been playing as well as he did last season.Throw in the lack of any threat in the central striking area and the amalgam has resulted in us swimming against the tide and likely to succomb to the tempest unless our transfer activity in January addresses our areas of concern.

Hodgson is very diplomatic in public about the strength of our squad but his message is being met with incredulity by supporters.Perhaps he is trying to dampen expectations with regard to our January transfer dealings.

We have not been totally outplayed apart from moments when Chelsea brought on Hazard away......

so, home to Liverpool it took Salah to conveniently tumble on 45' for a pen and after intense pressure from us a breakaway 2nd on 93'which is pretty obvious stuff from us ..but we played very well.

Away to Watford we should have scored two very easy chances in the first half and then ward missed that glorious header at the death to make it 2-2!

Southampton home, we were terrible but Alex McCarthy still had to be motm! Goals were 47'and 92'..sounding familiar.

Away to Bournemouth, did just enough until Sakho thought it would be a good idea to handle the ball on 87'to give them the winner...followed his terrible miss the week before against Newcastle to win 1-0!

Home Wolves, we almost outplayed them for the whole game, just our shocking final ball allowed them to pinch it 1-0.

Away Everton, we were so comfortable against them I could not see us conceding if it went on for weeks!..until they brought on subs for the last ten mins, total disaster. Should not have been.

Away Chelsea, they had to bring on Hazard to kill us off!

Spurs home, very unlucky 1-0 loss for us, we had them on the run especially the last twenty mins.

Brighton away, they had a ref called friend and he was, destroyed the game totally.

West ham away, we were very lacklustre but it still took two wonder goals to beat us.

We are not that bad, just careless moments from individuals and scoring with great opportunities.

it is not Hodgsons fault that our players keep missing fantastic opportunities, he makes them play into positions to score and because of confidence and injury they don't, how many times have we seen him scratching his head in the dugout! I feel sorry for him and bringing in someone new is only going to disrupt the whole team who I feel love him.

Guaita to start today, Speroni on bench. I’ve been told.

At least I’m interested to see the team sheet for the first time in a while. Would absolutely love Sorloth to start and score but won’t hold my breath on either.

I have this feeling that Luka is going to hit his straps today and have an absolute blinder also WH will play his best game of the season to date and keep a clean sheet so it’s 2-0 Luka getting both goals one a free kick just outside the box and the other a pen

Ok just heard Guaita is s starting so that’s farmed half my prediction but I’m confident the Luka part is still on the cards

Agree, we are not that bad but unless we start getting some wins under our belts, starting today, our gallant performances will count for nothing as we fall into one of the relegation spots by the year end, given that we play City and Chelsea within that timescale.

That was as scary a game as the one against Shrewsbury on the 17th September 1988! and......

We just actually won a game with Zaha watching from the stands shock horror! great defensive performance today from the whole team a brilliant and extremely important three bloody points!!
