Not true; he beat Le Pen by a huge margin in the second round run-off, but had already topped the polls in the first round against 5 other candidates. His support has dwindled to 18% because he has been milking the poorer people and sucking up to big business, breaking almost every pledge he made to improve ordinary people’s lives. So these are everyday people then.

W12 you should be ashamed in supporting these protesters. It’s pretty clear the looters were little to do with the yellow vests if you look at the videos. They are clearly a bunch of hooded “youths” taking advantage of the situation and I think you probably know that. Take your shame back and double it.

Fascinating to see Napoleon humbled and giving plenty of concessions to the worse off.

The main thing this demonstrates is how cool the French language sounds in comparison to English: Gilets Jeaune vs High Vis Jacket.

it's so telling that a gripe about fuel levies (macron was inordinately unlucky, btw, that the nw european diesel market had a somewhat unique move higher just as he was doing this) has turmed into a cultural movement. we've had Brexit, a huge upheaval that roughly half the country didn't want...and what do those who're frustrated do about it? Purse their lips, mostly. Had the same thing happened there, the losing side would have rioted long and hard just for the fun of it.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |
