well Russia are currently planning to go to the moon and the Russian Investigative Committee have called for investigations into the moon landings as they are not totally convinced themselves.

so I think things have been looked into by the Russians and that they would need concrete proof before making such accusations.

Well its nearly 50 years and the Russians are still looking?

its not the fact of still looking. To get definitive proof you would need to visit the moon and see if there was a trace of the united states, which they are currently working on doing.

Great by the way if they are looking for volunteers to to the moon I can suggest a few candidates about 650 of them sitting in Westminster.

The recent stuff from a committee in Russia is pure political theatre designed to throw a bone towards the disunity mob. Something that has been a policy of Russia since shortly after Putin took over, especially since the eastern expansion of NATO.....It isn't serious.

Russia never contested the legitimacy of the Moon landings and if they had, then they would have continued with their own moon programme, which was very active, and made them themselves.

The Russians could not get their moon rockets off the launch pad. That is what held them back.

I agree that Russian squabbling is about domestic politics. The two countries have been cooperating in space since the seventies and some claim even before that.

Would be interesting if they did land there and find no evidence of any previous visits.
After all the lander and flag etc shoukd still be there.
Unless ET took it as a trophy.
If the russians cant get there even now with all the intergalactic space travel was it really ever possible.
Cmon the money slushing around and they cant find a few billion for a space flight to one of the nearest planets to us.
We as a race are sooooo screwed.

As previously pointed out you can see some of this junk on the Moon through a telescope. Especially the retroreflectors - they'd be quite pants if you couldn't.

BTW the Moon is not a planet.

It wouldn't matter chateauferret. Some future expedition will show us images of the Apollo landers and the conspiracy people will say it's a fake.

Its like arguing with a bible salesmen they will have an answer for everything.

Well if you want to be pedantic, strictly speaking, the Moon and Earth are a binary planetary system.

I'm not advocating the fake theory but the reflectors could have been put there without people and you don't actually need them to do measurements because the Moon is so reflective anyway.

They might have been waiting until CGI is good enough to fake it. But seriously, people will believe what they want whatever they find.

Maybe the aliens have warned us off.

Now that I could believe. If you were a peaceful advanced alien race would you want anything to do with humanity and all its problems?
