well Russia are currently planning to go to the moon and the Russian Investigative Committee have called for investigations into the moon landings as they are not totally convinced themselves. so I think things have been looked into by the Russians and that they would need concrete proof before making such accusations. Well its nearly 50 years and the Russians are still looking?

To get definitive proof you would need to visit the moon and see if there was a trace of the united states, which they are currently working on doing. The recent stuff from a committee in Russia is pure political theatre designed to throw a bone towards the disunity mob. Something that has been a policy of Russia since shortly after Putin took over, especially since the eastern expansion of NATO.....It isn't serious. Russia never contested the legitimacy of the Moon landings and if they had, then they would have continued with their own moon programme, which was very active, and made them themselves. The Russians could not get their moon rockets off the launch pad. That is what held them back. I agree that Russian squabbling is about domestic politics. The two countries have been cooperating in space since the seventies and some claim even before that.

It wouldn't matter chateauferret. Some future expedition will show us images of the Apollo landers and the conspiracy people will say it's a fake. Its like arguing with a bible salesmen they will have an answer for everything. Edited by Badger11 (18 Dec 2018 9.45pm)

Well if you want to be pedantic, strictly speaking, the Moon and Earth are a binary planetary system. I'm not advocating the fake theory but the reflectors could have been put there without people and you don't actually need them to do measurements because the Moon is so reflective anyway.

If you were a peaceful advanced alien race would you want anything to do with humanity and all its problems? "Bl**dy humans coming over here sponging of us aliens"
